[2/21/03]It’s been a good week for Brandi Head.

After signing to play college soccer at Alabama-Huntsville earlier this week, the Vicksburg High senior was selected to play in the 8th Annual Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star Game.

Head, who helped Vicksburg win two state championships in 2001 and 2002, as well as reach the South State final this season, will be joined on the South team by Warren Central’s Alisha Lawrence.

Warren County will also be well-represented in the boys’ all-star game.

Warren Central’s Greg Carroll and Hunter Sumerall will be joined by Vicksburg’s Jeremy Johnson and St. Aloysius’ Joe Theobald on the South team.

Clinton coach Jeff Long, a former Warren Central girls’ coach, will coach the South.

Johnson is VHS’ career scoring leader, while Theobald was a four-year starter for the Flashes and helped them reach the Class 1A-2A-3A semifinals in 2001 and 2002.

The game will be played on June 21 at Hinds Community College in Raymond.

The girls’ game will begin at 5 p.m., and the boys’ game will start at 7 p.m.
