ROLLING FORK Christine Ousley died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at her home in Rolling Fork. She was 49.

Survivors include two daughters, Cometra Ousley and DeShannon Ousley, both of Memphis; four brothers, Armour Ousley Jr. of Michigan, Willie Ousley of Rolling Fork, Larry Ousley of Vicksburg and James Ousley of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Louella Swanigan of Chicago and Judy Ousley of Rolling Fork; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Mount Ollie M.B. Church in Egremont, Miss., with Willie J. Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Danover Cemetery in Egremont under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Julia Shelton

Services for Julia Shelton will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Service with the Rev. Melvin Bolden officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Givens Church Cemetery in Yokena.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shelton died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 97.

She was a domestic worker and a member of Mount Givens Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnson Shelton Sr.; her parents, Martha Perkins Eastman and William Perkins; three brothers, Johnny Eastman, Robert Eastman and Roger Perkins; a sister, Katie Scott; a son, Johnson Shelton; and a grandson.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Shelton of Vicksburg; two daughters, Chaney Peterson and Katie Gray, both of Vicksburg; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives including, the Scott, Shelton and Reagan families of Vicksburg.

Elbert Smith

Elbert Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 93.

A native of Yazoo County, Mr. Smith lived in Vicksburg and was retired from Anderson-Tully.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Rush Smith; a daughter; two sisters, and four brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Willie James Smith of Delta Junction, Ala., and John Shelton of Vicksburg; three daughters, Evelyn Byrd, Pearlie Twilley and Dorothy Shelby, all of Vicksburg; a sister, Marie Jackson of Yazoo City; a brother, Ned Smith of Yazoo City; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Ivory Watts

ROLLING FORK Ivory “Ike” Watts died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. He was 71.

Mr. Watts was a resident of Rolling Fork.

Survivors include his wife, DeElla Watts of Rolling Fork; four sons, Ivory Harold Watts of Chicago, Donald Watts and Dwight Watts, both of Seattle, Wash., and Antonio Watts of Hebron, Ky.; two daughters, Joyce Word and Felicia Wheatley, both of Ridgeland, Miss.; two sisters, Doris Watts of Rolling Fork and Dorothy Watson of Chicago; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cary.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the service Saturday at the church.

Friends and family hour will be from 6 until 7 tonight at Watson-Edwards & Evans Funeral Home in Greenville.
