Downs files for District 1 supervisor

[03/04/03] A sixth candidate, Kenneth Downs, has filed for candidacy for the District 1 position on the Warren County Board of Supervisors.
Downs, 38, a first-time office-seeker who owns and manages Discount Auto Repair and Muffler, 1315 Clay St., met Saturday’s filing deadline in the Warren County Circuit Clerk’s Office. His name was inadvertently left off a list of candidates published in Sunday’s edition.
Downs was one of 70 candidates who filed for county offices or area legislative posts. Party primaries are Aug. 5 with a general election set Nov. 4.
Downs joined in the race two other independents, Billy Boone, 53, and Michael Terry, 56; and three Republicans, incumbent David McDonald, 53, William Muirhead, no age available, and Jerry Rushing, 43.
