Doris Conn Branning

Doris Conn Branning died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.

Born in Sereppa, Miss., Ms. Branning was a Vicksburg resident and a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Galbreath of Houma, La., and Michael Conn of Vicksburg; four daughters, Tommie Clarkson of Eagle Lake, Patricia Schmidtt of Ridgeland, Miss., Sylvia Galbreath Lewter of Bossier City, La., and Rebecca Galbreath McMahon of Vicksburg; a brother, Clell M. Allred Jr. of Vicksburg; a sister, Jeanette Jerls of Vicksburg; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Revs. Brian Ivy and Richard Bradley Lewter officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Walter Schmidtt, Tommy Clarkson, Jason Galbreath, Johnny Lewter, Clell Allred and Scotty Cothran.

Helen Clara Causey

Services for Helen Clara Causey will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rohelia M.B. Church in Cayuga with the Rev. Jesse Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Causey died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 64.

Mrs. Causey was a member of Brown’s Chapel M.B. Church and Silver Moon Chapter No. 41 Order of Eastern Star. She served as office manager for a number of years for Causey’s Auto Repair.

She was on the Resident’s Council at Trace Haven Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mamie Hegler.

She is survived by her husband, Dewitt Causey of Vicksburg; two sons, Robert Smothers of Vicksburg and Douglas Smothers of Sanai, Egypt; one daughter, Regina Brown of Vicksburg; and 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and other relatives, including Lucille Wheatley of Vicksburg.

Robert Donerson Jr.

Services for Robert Donerson Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Family Life Cathedral. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the service at the church.

Mr. Donerson died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003. He was 76.

A resident of Chicago, Mr. Donerson was formerly of Vicksburg. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of Living Word Christian Center in Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Donerson; a sister, Lela Mae Donerson; and a brother, Walter Donerson.

He is survived by his wife, Estell Donerson of Chicago; eight sons, Donald Donerson, Spencer Donerson and Darren Donerson, all of Chicago, Ronald Donerson, Robert Donerson III and Larry Donerson, all of Vicksburg, Carl Donerson of Washington, D.C., and Todd Donerson of Omaha, Neb.; five daughters, Mary Donerson Gaines of Vicksburg, Patricia Donerson of Detroit, Thea Donerson of Gary, Ind., and Linda Donerson Hardaway and Tricia Donerson Smith, both of Atlanta; grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Clifton Harris, Ann Williams and John Donerson, all of Vicksburg.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Elsie Mae Fesler

Elsie Mae Fesler died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was 83.

A native of Los Angeles, Mrs. Fesler was a lifelong resident of Covina, Calif., before moving to Vicksburg in 1997. She was a retired bookkeeper and office manager. She was a member of the California Historical Society and Crawford Street Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Fesler; and her parents, Grover Cleveland and Mary Graser Provin.

Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Copeland of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Stacy Copeland, Jody Copeland Pruitt and Ryan Copeland; and a great-grandson.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Lofton, Chad Pruitt, David Boolos, Jerry Dean, Jack Palmer and Butch Newman.

Mary D. Jennings McBeth

JACKSON Mary D. Jennings McBeth died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. She was 70.

A native of Port Gibson, Ms. McBeth was a resident of Jackson.

Services will be at noon Friday at Pearl Street A.M.E. Church in Jackson. Burial will follow at Garden Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lakeover Funeral Home in Jackson.

Mabel Robertson

NEWNAN, Ga. Mabel Robertson died Monday, March 3, 2003, in Newnan, Ga. She was 89.

Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Horace and Mary Morgan, Mrs. Robertson lived in Newnan. She was a former resident of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Robertson; and a grandson.

Survivors include a son, William H. Robertson Jr.; a daughter, Ann Young; a brother, Richard Morgan; a grandson; and two great-grandsons.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Rebecca I. Foote officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness or to a favorite charity.
