[3/5/03]Fans not wanting to travel to Jackson for the Class 5A state basketball championship will be able to watch the game live on Mississippi E-TV, cable channel 7, on Friday night at 8 p.m.

The Vicksburg Gators (29-8) will be seeking the school’s first basketball championship since 1980. They’ll face Starkville (28-2), which won the Class A-AA title in 1961.

The Vicksburg game is one of 10 championship games that will be broadcast live on E-TV. On Thursday, the girls and boys Class 4A games will air starting at 6:30 p.m.

Class 1A will air Friday at 1 p.m., the 5A games will start Friday at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday, Class 2A begins at 1 p.m. and Class 3A at 6:30 p.m.
