Charlotte Adelle Conrad
Charlotte Adelle Conrad died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at her home. She was 77.
Mrs. Conrad was born in Warren County to Robert Barnes and Guinette Dillon McGuffee. A graduate of Delta State University, she taught school and coached basketball at Redwood. She worked as bookkeeper for Enterprise Plumbing for a number of years.
She lived in Arkansas and Missouri before returning in 1980 to Vicksburg, where her husband, the Rev. Ashford Conrad, was pastor of Wilderness Baptist Church. She was a charter member of Wilderness Baptist Church.
Mrs. Conrad was preceded in death by her husband; and three brothers, John McGuffie, James McGuffie and Austin McGuffie.
She is survived by two sons, Bob Conrad and Glenn Conrad, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Jessie McGuffie Duncan of Vicksburg; four brothers, Robert McGuffie, Billy G. McGuffie and Sidney J. McGuffee, all of Vicksburg, and Charlie McGuffee of Winter Garden, Fla.; and three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home with the Revs. Ed Steele, Vern Holifield, Billy Higginbotham and Billy Huffmaster officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Baggett, Dewayne Trest, Jessie Anderson, Wayne Sibley, Danny Spain and the Rev. A.J. Stephens.

Helen Baskind Kline
ANGUILLA Helen Baskind Kline died Wednesday, March 12, 2003. She was 79.
Mrs. Kline was born in Clarksdale to Harry and Leah Weiss Baskind. She had lived in Anguilla since 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Kline.
She is survived by a son, Henry Kline II of Los Angeles; a daughter, Leslie Kline Miller of Rolling Fork; and three grandchildren, Joshua Kline Miller of Yazoo City, Karen Miller Lowe of Brandon and Eric Arthur Miller of Anguilla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Anshe Chesed Cemetery with Stan Kline and Teddy Levi officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the service at Temple Anshe Chesed, 2414 Grove St.

Willie Humes Jr.
Services for Willie Humes Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will be present from 5 until 7.
Mr. Humes died Monday, March 10, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 71.
He was a resident of Vicksburg and a retired brick mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Humes Sr. and Pearl Reed Humes; and two brothers, Laymon Humes Sr. and Amos Humes.
Survivors include Dorothy Armstrong of Vicksburg; five sons, Willie “Bill” Humes of Merrillville, Ind., Edward Lee Humes and Ronald “Donnie” Humes, both of Vicksburg, Gregory Humes of San Antonio, Texas, and William Humes of Jackson; four daughters, Barbara Humes Bradsher of Irving, Texas, Yvonne Humes Berry of Chicago, Shirley Humes Young of Jackson and Linda Humes Sweet of Vicksburg; two sisters, Patricia Humes Figures of Chicago and Ester “Sis” Havard of Vicksburg; a brother, Charles Humes of Chicago; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and other relatives including Bernice Humes of Vicksburg and Eunice Polk.
Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Pauline C. Payne
SAUCIER Pauline C. Payne died Monday, March 10, 2003, in Gulfport. She was 70.
Mrs. Payne was a resident of Saucier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley R. and Frances Rogers Cobb; a sister, Joann Deprey; and three brothers, Ty Cobb, Jackie Cobb and Johnny Cobb.
She is survived by her husband, Woodraw Murdock Payne of Saucier; three daughters, Vicki Rhodes of Uniontown, Ky., Karen Bottin of Vicksburg and Pam Swelley of Gulfport; four sons, Junior McLendon of Perkinston, Miss., Phil McLendon of Ocean Springs, Michael Payne of Saucier and Bobby Joe McLendon of Jonesboro, Ark.; a brother, Sonny Cobb of McClain, Miss.; a sister, Anita Fairley of McClain; and 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Riemann Funeral Home in Gulfport. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 10 tonight at the funeral home.
Rosanna Woods
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Rosanna “Cooter” Woods died Friday, March 7, 2003, in Jacksonville, Fla. She was 97.
A former resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Woods lived in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a homemaker and a former member of Second Union Baptist Church in Utica.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Woods; a son, Lee Andrew Woods; her parents, William and Leola Floyd; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Ethel M. Stribling of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Annie M. Evans of Toledo; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives including Elsie McGowan of Vicksburg.
