[3/19/2003] Lauren Anderson’s 15 strikeout performance wasn’t enough to lift Warren Central past rival Clinton on Tuesday.

The Lady Arrows scored a run in the bottom of the eighth after a controversial call at second base for a 1-0 win.

In fast-pitch, after the seventh inning, the hitting team automatically gets a runner on second base with no outs. Warren Central failed to score in the top of the eighth.

With one out in the bottom of the inning, Clinton’s runner at second was called out trying to get back into the bag on a fielder’s choice. The home-plate umpire, though, overruled the call allowing runners on first and second with one out.

The next batter singled in the winning run.

Lyn Strawn had a double to lead Warren Central’s (6-3, 0-1 Division 6-5A) five-hit attack.
