Kenneth Wayne Nettles Jr.

Kenneth Wayne Nettles Jr. died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, along with his wife, Donna Jo Nettles, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 45.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Nettles was the son of the late Kenneth Wayne Nettles Sr. and Wanda Black Nettles. He had been a Vicksburg resident since 1964. He was an electrician.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.

He is survived by one daughter, Tabatha Nettles of Vicksburg, and two brothers, Jessie W. Nettles of San Diego, Calif., and Michael R. Nettles of Bozeman, Mont.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

Eugene Pepper Sr.

ANGUILLA Eugene “Big Man” Pepper Sr. died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at his home in Anguilla. He was 60.

Survivors include his wife, Willie M. Pepper of Anguilla; nine sons, Charles Pepper of Des Plaines, Ill., Anthonio Gryer of Fon du Lac, Wis., Eric Gryer, Kevin Gryer and Antoine Gryer, all of Anguilla, Larry Pepper of Yazoo City, Michael Pepper and Gregory Gryer, both of Green Bay, Wis., and Henry Gryer of Racine, Wis.; 13 daughters, Anastasia Gryer, Dana Gryer, Tyiesha Gryer, Jacqueline Gryer, Shirlene Gryer, Antoinette Gryer and Johazella Gryer, all of Anguilla, Elizabeth P. McCurry of Chicago, Jackie Pepper, Deborah Pepper and Amanda Pepper, all of Yazoo City, Lola Gryer of Racine and Vanjie Moore of Columbus, Ga.; four brothers, Cleveland Pepper of Cary, Clifford Pepper and Steve Green, both of Jackson, and Gerald Green of Tennessee; five sisters, Bernice Broomfield of Chicago, Maude Collins of Holly Bluff and Michelle Green, Pamala Pepper and Margaret Blanchard, all of Jackson; 50 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Foundation M.B. Church in Louise, Miss., with Kenneth Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Ollie H. Polk

CARSON, Miss. Ollie H. Polk died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at his home in Carson, Miss., He was 72.

A retired farmer and carpenter, Mr. Polk was a native of Lawrence County. He served in the Army and was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Carson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, a grandson and a daughter, Angela Renee Pittman.

Survivors include his wife, Gaye Dyess Polk of Carson; three daughters, Cynthia Morgan of Vicksburg and Bobbie Clark and Phyllis Broome, both of Carson; one sister, Sallie Sumrall of Dexter, Miss.; two brothers, James Polk of Norco, La., and Emmitt Polk of Goss, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia, Miss., with John King, Tommy Broom, Mark McArthur and Wayne Woolwine officiating. Burial will follow at Green’s Creek Cemetery in Jefferson Davis County.

Visitation will be from 4:30 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
