Tony Cross

Services for Tony Cross will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Green Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Cross died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 48.

Mr. Cross was a resident of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Davis Caples.

Survivors include his father, R.L. Davis; two sons, Demetrius Cross of Forest and Mark Anthony Cross of Virginia; a daughter, Camille Cross of Memphis; three brothers, Anthony Cross of Atlanta, Ga., Joseph Martin of Chicago and Charles Minnifield of Los Angeles; five sisters, Betty Floyd of Maryland, Ernestine Knight of Vicksburg, Brenda Martin and Tracy Reed, both of Memphis and Mayra Cross of Chicago; and his grandmother, Anna M. Walker of Compton, Ga.

Joseph Kramer Fife

FAYETTE Joseph Kramer Fife died Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Claiborne County. He was 22.

Born in Adams County, Mr. Fife was a resident of Fayette. He was a member of Community Methodist Church in Fayette and was attending Alcorn State University. He was a student coach at Adams County Christian School in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Strittman; and his grandmother, Easter Fife.

Survivors include his parents, Ricky and Nan Fife, both of Fayette; a brother, Ricky Fife Jr. of Fayette; his grandmother, Martha Strittman of Fayette; his grandfather, R.J. Fife of Port Gibson; and aunts and uncles.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home South Chapel in Natchez with the Revs. Ben Lewis and Donald Slider officiating. Burial will follow at Saperta Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County, Miss., under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:30 until 10 tonight at Laird Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Keith Walters, Rusty McPhate, Bruce Pickle, Bill Richardson, Gill Morros, Ricky Gray, Bo Swilley, Bob Garrett, Earl Wheeler and Loften Chambell.

Honorary pallbearers will be the 2002 Adams County Christian School football team, Joey Martin and friends.

Olga Douglas Lewis

Olga Douglas “Doug” Lewis died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 90.

A native of Buckatunna, Miss., Mrs. Lewis was the daughter of E.W. Douglas Sr. and Maggie Patrick Douglas. She had been a Vicksburg resident since 1936 and received a degree in nursing from the Street Sanitarium School of Nursing. She was a member of the Vicksburg Country Club and was associated with a number of civic organizations.

A golfer and professional gardener, she was a member and past board member of Temple Anshe Chesed.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Nathan B. Lewis, and four brothers, E.W. Douglas Jr., Norman Douglas, George Douglas and Lamar Douglas.

Survivors include a son, Douglas B. Lewis of Nashville; a sister, Regina Kietzer of Gulfport; two brothers, Emery Douglas and Bunyon Douglas, both of Buckatunna; two grandsons, Bryan D. Lewis and M. Scott Lewis, both of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Anshe Chesed Cemetery with Ted Levi and Stanley B. Kline officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joseph A. Gerache, Marion Metzger Jr., Richard Marcus, Randy Sherard, Leon Jacobs, Aubrey L. Sullivan, Jeanette Jordan, Sandra Bishop and Mary Winkley.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Temple Anshe Chesed.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
