Tina Marie Cartlidge

MAYERSVILLE Tina Marie Cartlidge died Friday, March 21, 2003, at Sharkey Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 46.

Mrs. Cartlidge was a resident of Mayersville.

Survivors include her husband, Leroy Cartlidge of Mayersville; two sons, Christopher McQuay and LaMichael Cartlidge, both of Mayersville; and two daughters, Ida Cartlidge and Jasmine Cartlidge, both of Mayersville.

Services will be at noon Sunday at Rose Hill M.B. Church in Mayersville with W.C. Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Minerva Brown Cosey

FAYETTE Minerva Brown Cosey died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at her home in Fayette. She was 93.

Mrs. Cosey was a homemaker and a member of Mount Israel Baptist Church in Fayette where she served as a deaconess.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Cosey Sr.; a son, Oneal “Jack” Cosey; a daughter, Amanda Cosey; a grandson, Gary Cosey; her parents, Alfred and Clara Griffin Brown; and 18 siblings.

Survivors include three daughters, Anita C. January and Zella Cosey, both of Fayette, and Frances Ballard of Lorman; three sons, Oscar Cosey of Akron, Ohio, David Cosey of Fayette and Alex Cosey of Port Gibson; a sister, Frances Gilchrist of Bryant, Texas; 19 grandchildren, two of whom she reared, Keith January and Kenyatter Ballard, both of Fayette; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends including, Ida Cosey of Fayette.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mount Israel Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons and great-grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Oscar Cosey Sr., Alex Cosey Jr., Lee Andrew January, Keith January Sr., David Cosey, Joseph January, Michael January and Kenyatter D. Ballard.

Oscar Davis

ANGUILLA Oscar Davis died Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was 51.

Mr. Davis was a resident of Anguilla.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Sherman of Jackson, Johnny Maxie and James Maxie, both of Anguilla, and Ronald Maxie of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Yolanda Richardson of Rolling Fork and Jeanette Maxie and Phyllis Maxie, both of Anguilla; three brothers, Willie Davis of Atlanta, Ga., Charles Davis of Jackson and Johnny Davis of Anguilla; two sisters, Annie M. Johnson and Sarah Davis, both of Anguilla; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christian Light M.B. Church in Anguilla. Burial will follow at Cynthia Diana Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

George Jackson

George Jackson died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at River Region West. He was 86.

Mr. Jackson was a retired factory worker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Mae Jackson; his parents, Willie and Joseph Jackson; three brothers, Sylvester Jackson, Willie Jackson and Samuel Jackson; and three sisters, Mary Joseph, Pinkie Nathan and Emma Trisby.

Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Williams of Vicksburg; two sons, Chester Smith and Charles Smith, both of Vicksburg; a stepson, Dale Smith of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Flora Smith and Annie Allen, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Ida Mae Reed of Chicago; a brother, James Jackson of Chicago; five grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Lodis Smith of Vicksburg.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
