Freda Gwen Rucker Bourgeois

JACKSON Freda Gwen Rucker Bourgeois died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Grenada Health and Rehab in Grenada. She was 44.

Born in Clarksdale, Mrs. Bourgeois was a resident of Jackson and a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Sanders of Jackson, Brad Bourgeois of Marrero, La., and Jeremy Renfro of Vicksburg; a brother, Van Rucker Jr. of West Virginia; three sisters, Carla Pittman and Melanie Rucker, both of Oxford, and Dawn Rucker of Clarksdale; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

National Funeral Home in Clarksdale has charge of arrangements.

Delores Jean Deaton Ogle

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Delores Jean Deaton Ogle died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn. She was 58.

A native of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. Ogle had lived in Knoxville for a number of years. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Delia Holland. She worked as a computer programs analyst for Martin Marietta before retirement in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

She had been a member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville for 25 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ron Ogle and Joe S. Deaton Jr.

Survivors include Robert Ward of Knoxville; a daughter, Cindi Nance; one son, Joe Deaton; five sisters, Barbara Stewart of Salem, Ore., Faye Sanders of Vicksburg, Rita Bedgood of Heflin, La., Debra Matherne of Somonauk, Ill., and Melanie Dogan of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Mike Holland of Tallulah; and four grandchildren.

Services were Saturday at Highland South Funeral Home Chapel in Knoxville. Burial was Sunday at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Mathiston.

Claude Scott

BROOKHAVEN Claude Scott died Monday, March 31, 2003, at his home in Brookhaven. He was 78.

Mr. Scott was a native of Jasper County and lived in Pattison for 40 years before moving to Brookhaven four years ago. He retired from LeTourneau as a pipe fitter and worked in oil fields for a number of years. He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Sammy Lee Scott of Natchez and Lamar Scott of Vicksburg; two daughters, Claudine Fife of Brookhaven and Margaret Friley of Vicksburg; a brother, John Henry Scott of West Memphis, Ark.; one sister, Eugenia Callender of Tunica, La.; and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Fife Cemetery in Port Gibson. Burial followed under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Johnny Ray Bryant, Tommy Ray Bryant, LaDon Givens, Todd Granger, DeWayne Wilkinson, Randy Hynum, Jimmy Burch and Robert Smith.

Dorothy Deanna Williams

OAK GROVE Dorothy Deanna Williams died Monday, March 31, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La. She was 39.

Ms. Williams was a resident of Oak Grove.

Survivors include two sons, Ricky Allen Smith of Booneville, Ark., and Rocky Eugene Williams of Oak Grove; her parents, William J. Smith of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Barbara Jane Smith of Eudora, Ark.; three brothers, William David Smith and James Donald Smith, both of Booneville, and Robert Douglas Smith of Van Buren, Ark.; and four sisters, Barbara Diane Funderburg and Debra Darlene Guthrie, both of Warner Robbins, Donna Kay Truelane of Salt Lake City, Fla., and Yalanda Denice Bell of Oak Grove.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church in Oak Grove with the Revs. Mike Howard and Bud O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Adams, John Pritchard, Ezra Beeson, Douglas Smith, David Hosak and Billy Guthrie.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Belt and Patrick Welch.
