ANGUILLA James Smith Sr. died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Greenwood-Leflore Hospital in Greenwood. He was 81.

An Anguilla resident, Mr. Smith was retired from General Motors. He was a veteran of the Army.

He is survived by a son, James Smith Jr. of Portland, Ore.; seven daughters, Barbara Jones, Betty Long and Robin Mitchell, all of Saginaw, Mich., and Doris Smith, Virgie Smith, Ellen Smith and Mavis Smith, all of Portland; two brothers, John Smith Jr. of Rolling Fork and Warren Smith of Chicago; two sisters, Veola Baker and Josie Butler, both of Chicago; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Locust Grove M.B. Church in Anguilla with Pastor John McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell L. Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Percy Turner Sr.

Services for Percy Turner Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul M.B. Church in Claiborne County. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home and from noon Saturday until the service at the church.

Mr. Turner died Sunday March 30, 2003, in Jackson. He was 75.

A native of Utica, Mr. Turner was a retired employee of Cooper Lighting. He was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church in Claiborne County.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Banks Turner; his father, Leon Turner Sr.; his wife, Annie Mae Brown Turner; a daughter, Darlinda Turner; a sister, Vantee Turner Hunt; and two brothers, Leon Turner Jr. and David Turner Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Anna B. Young of Lombard, Ill., and Deidre Turner of Utica; eight sons, Johnny Turner of Vicksburg, Jeff Turner of Chicago, Jerry Turner of North Aurora, Ill., and Robert Turner Sr., Walter Turner, Percy Turner Jr., Karl Turner and Narada Pollard, all of Utica; two sisters, Mattie Turner Robinson and Richard Turner Hicks, both of Vicksburg; 53 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
