Martin MacHale Theobald

CHARLESTON, S.C. Martin MacHale Theobald died Friday, April 11, 2003, in South Carolina. He was 69.

Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Theobald was a resident of Charelston, S.C., and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service. He was the son of Louis and Bernadette Miller Theobald.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Risher of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Susan Bishop of North Charleston, S.C., and Jennifer Martin of Charleston; five sons, Steven Theobald of Dugway, Utah, Wayne Theobald of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., and Scott Theobald, Bradley Theobald and Jonathan Theobald, all of Charleston; two brothers, Louis Theobald and Bernard Theobald, both of Vicksburg; and 14 grandchildren.

A Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Charleston. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens under the direction of J.Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel in Charleston.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. with rosary at 7 Sunday at the funeral home.
