Lovie W. Cook

DELHI Lovie W. Cook died Friday, April 25, 2003, in Monroe. She was 85.

Mrs. Cook was a native of Franklin Parish and a longtime resident of Delhi. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Delhi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zack Williams and Evie Harris Williams; a grandson, Jeremy Mark Lash; six brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Campbell Cook of Delhi; a daughter, Carolyn Cook Lash of Findlay, Ill.; three sons, William Campbell Cook of Grapevine, Texas, John Wayne Cook of Mansfield, Ohio, and David Alan Cook of Delhi; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Joann Haines.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Delhi with the Rev. Marcus Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Delhi Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi.

Pallbearers will be Danny Boone, Bernard Duchesne, Woodie H. Williams, Billy Beam, Skeeter Wilks and Bobby Charrier.

Honorary pallbearers will be M.B. Thornton and Larry Stroud.

William E. Hebler

William E. “Bill” Hebler died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 86.

Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Hebler was the son of the late Martin John and Mary Jane Countryman Hebler. He retired from Marathon-LeTourneau after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the Army, having served with the 7th Armored Division. He earned a Purple Heart at the Battle of the Bulge in the European Theater. Mr. Hebler was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Hebler and Robert Hebler.

Survivors include his wife, Elma M. Hebler; a daughter, Ruth Ferrstrom of Miami Beach, Fla.; a brother, Patrick Hebler of Vicksburg; a sister, Maggie Hatchette of Vicksburg; a grandson, Eric Ferrstrom of Miami Beach; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be John Hebler, Martin Hebler, Mike Hebler, Rick Hebler, Charles Wary and Bert Gilmore.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Monk and members of the Quarter Century Club of Marathon-LeTourneau.
