CARY Services for Mattie Lou Lindsey will be at noon Saturday at Guiding Star M.B. Church in Cary with the Rev. Carl Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Cary Community Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Lindsey died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 59.

A homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan Brown and Daisy Mae Williams-Brown; three brothers, Fred Brown, Eddie Brown and Robert Brown; and two sisters, Minnie Brown and Mary Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Senior Lindsey Sr. of Cary; six sons, Senior Lindsey Jr. of Jackson, James Lindsey and Rodney Lindsey, both of Vicksburg, Willie Joe Lindsey and Patrick Lindsey, both of Cary, and Randy Lindsey of Brookhaven; three daughters, Mattie R. Lindsey and Linda Davis, both of Cary, and Shirley M. Lindsey of Vicksburg; two brothers, Noria Brown of Cary and David Brown of Los Angeles; four sisters, Rose Ella Brown of Cary, Eunice Miller and Annie McConnell, both of Vicksburg, and Daisy Warren of New Orleans; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Mary Lee Smith

Services for Mary Lee Smith will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Baltes Gym at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Douglas Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Alban Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 68.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Amelia Rush Knight; three brothers, Dan Knight Jr., James Knight and John Harold Knight; and a granddaughter, Jasmine Sweet.

Survivors include seven sons, Albert Sweet Jr. of Gary, Ind., Jimmy Sweet, Raymond Sweet, Larry Sweet and Anthony Sweet, all of Vicksburg, Michael Sweet of Jackson and Ervin Sweet of Tupelo; four daughters, Dorothy Felix, Beverly O’Neal and Vanessa Thompson, all of Vicksburg, and Mary “Tina” Brown of Shreveport, La.; four brothers, Willie Knight of Bellwood, Ill., George Knight of Virginia Beach, Va., Jeff Knight of Tallulah and Leonard Knight of Vicksburg; a sister, Thomasine Hale Bullard of Pensacola, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
