C.M. Dyer Jr.

CLEVELAND C.M. Dyer Jr. died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Cleveland Nursing Home in Cleveland. He was 58.

A resident of Cleveland, Mr. Dyer graduated from Grambling College with a degree in industrial arts. He was a roofer with Brown Roofing Company and a small-engine repairman. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Guthrie, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.M. Dyer Sr. and Mary Dawkins; one sister, Barbara Dyer Baker; and two brothers, Steve Dyer and Marzell Dyer.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Turner Dyer of Cleveland; two sons, Nathiel Dyer and C.M. Dyer, both of Atlanta; four brothers, Wilber Dyer of Memphis, Terry Dyer and Gerald Dyer, both of Monroe, La., and Irving Dyer of Marion, La.; five sisters, Roz Dyer Browhaw of Stockton, Calif., Mary Dyer Morris of West Monroe, La., Jennifer Dyer and Sharon Dyer, both of Monroe, and Lynetta Dyer Butler of Baton Rouge; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dyer Chapel CME Church in West Monroe with the Rev. Terrence Flueas officiating. Burial will follow at Richwood Memorial Garden in Monroe under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the church.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Barbara J. Flowers

MAYERSVILLE Barbara J. Flowers died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital. She was 47.

Ms. Flowers was a resident of Mayersville.

She is survived by her father, Robert Brown of Chicago; three sons, Eddie Westley of Anderson, Ind., William Westley of Lakeland, Fla., and Roy Westley; a daughter, Catina Westley of Lakeland; three sisters, Carrie Johnson of Mayersville, Betty Webster of Anderson and Beatrice Coleman of Bellwood, Ill.; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moon Lake M.B. Church in Mayersville with Jeff Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery in Grace under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Robert Lee Greer

EUDORA, Ark. Robert Lee Greer died Monday, May 12, 2003, at his home. He was 58.

Born in Hot Springs, Ark., to the late John F. and Bertha Leah Rosin Greer, Mr. Greer was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Frances Vanness.

Survivors include two brothers, David Greer of Eudora and John D. Greer of Keithville, La.; six sisters, Leah Reed of Eudora, Carolyn Martar of Vicksburg, Eileen Baugher of Clinton, Irene Whisenant of Nesbit, Miss., Lorain Vail of Arkadelphia, Ark., and Kay Hambers of Lake Village, Ark.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Cemetery with M.L. Vail officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Griffin-Steele Funeral Service in Eudora.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church in Eudora.

Argentina Havard

Argentina Havard died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at her home. She was 82.

A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Havard was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sodality at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Annie Marshall; a brother, Verner Allen; five sisters, Ann Meeks, Gytonne Griffin, Melba L. Marshall, Marianna McKinney and Maggie Davis.

Survivors include her husband, Harrison Havard of Vicksburg; a son, Harrison Havard Jr. of Vicksburg; two daughters, Beulah Caison and Melba Havard, both of Los Angeles; two sisters, Alice Singleton and Jeanee Marshall, both of Los Angeles; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Andrew Frank Johnson Jr.

DELHI Andrew Frank Johnson Jr. died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi. He was 74.

A resident of Delhi, Mr. Johnson was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church near Epps. He was formerly associated with Starcraft Manufacturing Plant in Delhi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Frank Johnson Sr. and Mamie Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Marie Johnson of Delhi; four sons, Steve Wayne Johnson of Clute, Texas, Andrew M. Johnson and Danny Lee Johnson, both of Delhi, and Ronnie Monroe Johnson of Jennings, La.; two daughters, Joyce Dannehl of Rayville, La., and Brenda Hernandez of Pflugerville, Texas; a brother, Jessie D. Johnson of West Monroe, La.; a sister, Virginia Jones of Delhi; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with the Revs. Marcus Murphy and Archie Lee Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Newton Cemetery in Delhi.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Harrell, Lee Harrell, Gary Jones, James Bryant, Jason Rhodes and Gabino Hernandez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. David R. Raines, Lester Johnson, J.K. Sehon and Krishna Kambhanpati.
