Archie Lee Hamilton

UTICA Archie Lee Hamilton died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at his home in Utica. He was 64.
Mr. Hamilton was a logger for a number of years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lutisha Brown Ringo; his father, Nelson Hamilton; and two brothers, Leroy Crumb and Nathaniel Hamilton.
He is survived by a son, Donell Jenkins of Chicago; two daughters, Theresa Jenkins and Patricia Jenkins, both of Chicago; 11 brothers, Willie T. Moore and Issiah Brown, both of Baton Rouge, James Brown and Jerry Brown, both of Utica, Augusta Brown and Slyvester Gaston, both of Vicksburg, Varries Brown of Pascagoula, Nelson Hamilton of Terry, James Hamilton of Jackson, Willie Hamilton of Los Angeles and Johnnie Lee Hamilton of New Orleans; eight sisters, Maude Lee Seals of Jackson, Joyce Coleman of Vicksburg, Deloris Evans, Shirley Wright and Deloris Sproulls, all of Utica, and Myrtle Ree Burns, Betty Jean Hamilton and Willie Bea McPhearson, all of New Orleans; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including members of the Ringo, Brown and Davenport families of Vicksburg.
Westhaven Funeral Home of Utica has charge of arrangements.
James Karl Hasty
LAUREL James Karl Hasty died Friday, May 23, 2003, at his home in Laurel. He was 46.
Mr. Hasty was a former employee of Sanderson Farms in Laurel.
Survivors include his wife, Gayle Gunkel Hasty; a son, Sean Karl Hasty of Laurel; two stepdaughters, Wendy Lynn Beech of Laurel and Angela Dawn Penny of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Don Hasty of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Carol Falls of Vicksburg; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel with the Rev. Drew Blanton officiating.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Flora Green Moore
Services for Flora Green Moore will be at noon Saturday at Mount Ararat M.B. Church with the Rev. T.J. Moreland officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be all day Friday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the service Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Moore died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 65.
A native and resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Moore retired as a teacher from the Vicksburg Warren School District. She was a member of Mount Ararat M.B. Church and the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her father, Philip Green.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Moore of Southfield, Mich.; two daughters, Katrina Moore of Vicksburg and Kathy Moore Washington of Stone Mountain, Ga.; her mother, Florence Bingham Green of Vicksburg; two sisters, Roberta Denham of Vicksburg and Mary Florence Jones of Detroit; a brother, Willie Green of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives, including Nicie Young.
George Ernest Myers
George Ernest Myers died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 81.
Mr. Myers was a native of Forest and moved to Vicksburg in 1946. He was the son of the late George W. and Velma Myers.
He retired from Westinghouse Lighting Co. after 20 years of service and from Universal Manufacturing Co. after 15 years. He served in World War II.
He was a member of Stevens Masonic Lodge and Bowmar Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Corinne B. Myers of Vicksburg; a daughter, Kathryn Marie Burton of Vicksburg; two brothers, Norman Myers of Monroe, La., and J.C. Myers of San Bernardino, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Allyson Denise Hazzlerigg and Brittany Rena Burton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Revs. Terry White and Ed Hightower officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Friday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jay Kent, Johnny Davis, Jay Kelly, David McClurg, Willie Hughes and Douglas Foster.
