PORT GIBSON Thomas “June” Hyder Jr. died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 57.
Born in Claiborne County, Mr. Hyder was a foreman for Lincoln Prolon Inc. in Port Gibson. He was a member of Springhill M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hyder Sr. and Loretta Mays; two brothers, Danny Hyder and Roosevelt Hyder; and his grandparents, Mittie and George Thornton and John Hyder.
He is survived by Julia B. Dotson of Port Gibson; two sons, Rodney T. Dotson and Deddrit D. Dotson, both of Port Gibson; three stepdaughters, Cassandra F. White and Sharrion Thompson, both of Port Gibson, and Tonia L. Dotson of Jackson; five brothers, Eric Hyder, Gerald Hyder, Harold Hyder and Shamora Hyder, all of Port Gibson, and Michael Anderson of Atlanta; four sisters, Laura Anderson, Tracey Hyder, Connie Watson and Ruby Thomas, all of Port Gibson; and nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
George Earl McKee
TALLULAH George Earl McKee died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at River Region West. He was 45.
Born in Vicksburg, Mr. McKee lived most of his life in Madison Parish. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Tallulah.
Survivors include his mother, Segis Jackson McKee of Tallulah; a brother, Benton Floyd of Byram, Miss.; two sisters, Patsy Faxon of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Ellen Stennett of Jackson; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parkview Baptist Church with the Revs. Cletus Moak and John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Wells, Lamar Walters, Harold Bolton, James Ashley, Les Scallions, James Still, Ed Hodges, Clarence Hodges, Van Cottoman and Johnny Cartwright.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Parkview Baptist Church, Dr. Walter Johnston, Dr. Shawn Panzer and nurses of the second floor rehabilitation center.
Johneva Dabbs Wilson
WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. Johneva Dabbs Wilson died Thursday, May 29, 2003, in West Memphis, Ark. She was 87.
Born in Vicksburg to the late Alexander and Anna Dabbs, Mrs. Wilson was a resident of West Memphis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; three sisters; and two sons.
Survivors include her husband, Nash Wilson Jr. of West Memphis; three sons, William Cooper of Chicago and Freddie Cooper and Nash Wilson Jr., both of Memphis; three daughters, Marion Humes of Chicago, Hilda Hollie of Vicksburg and Joan Randle of West Memphis; a brother, Freddie Dabbs of Bronx, N.Y.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at noon Thursday in West Memphis. Burial will follow at Paradise Gardens in Edmondson, Ark., under the direction of Anthony Funeral Home in West Memphis.
