Nell Dundas

Nell Dundas died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.

Born in Mississippi, Mrs. Dundas was reared in Mound, La., and graduated from Tallulah High School. She lived in southern California for 50 years.

She was employed by the U.S. Government at the Prison of War Camp in Clinton and worked as an executive secretary at Thorpe Institution in California.

The daughter of Isabel S. and John Butler, she was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband, John F. Dundas of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park in Clinton with the Rev. P.J. Curley officiating.

Ida R. Hill

CHICAGO Ida R. Hill died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Halsted Terrace Nursing Home in Chicago. She was 77.

Born and reared in Vicksburg, Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late Steward and Viola Ross.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hill; a brother, Johnny Ross; and 10 additional siblings.

Survivors include two sisters, Sarah King of Chicago and Lillian Porter of Vicksburg; seven nieces; four nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and cousins and friends.

Services will be at noon Friday at New Hope Baptist Church in Chicago. Burial will follow at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip, Ill.

Thomas Hyder Jr.

PORT GIBSON Services for Thomas “June” Hyder Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Springhill M.B. Church on Grand Gulf Road with the Rev. Johnathon Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until the service Saturday at the church.

Mr. Hyder died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at his home in Port Gibson. He was 57.

Born in Claiborne County, Mr. Hyder was a foreman for Lincoln Prolon Inc. in Port Gibson. He was a member of Springhill M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hyder Sr. and Loretta Mays; a brother, Danny Hyder; and his grandparents, Mittie and George Thornton and John Hyder.

He is survived by Julia B. Dotson of Port Gibson; two sons, Rodney T. Dotson and Deddrit D. Dotson, both of Port Gibson; three stepdaughters, Cassandra F. White and Sharrion Thompson, both of Port Gibson, and Tonia L. Dotson of Jackson; six brothers, Eric Hyder, Gerald Hyder, Roosevelt Graise, Harold Hyder and Shamora Hyder, all of Port Gibson, and Michael Anderson of Atlanta; four sisters, Laura Anderson, Tracey Hyder, Connie Watson and Ruby Thomas, all of Port Gibson; and nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins.

Billy Moulder

UTICA Billy Moulder died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 69.

Mr. Moulder was a lifelong resident of Rocky Springs. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the Navy from 1951 until 1961. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

He is survived by his wife, Nora Story Moulder of Rocky Springs; one son, Dean Moulder of Rocky Springs; five sisters, Faye Willis, June Wilson and Gwen Haliburton, all of Vicksburg, Mary Ann Beasley of Utica and Betty Dorman of Rocky Springs; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Utica Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Clemts officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Maynoie Reed

Maynoie “Nana” Reed died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was 93.

Mrs. Reed was born in Hinds County to the late Eddie and Annie Bell Allen. She was a former member of Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Edwards.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Reed, and an adopted daughter, Alma Ruth Dunkerson.

Survivors include an adopted daughter, Clementine Horton of Edwards; three sisters, Marie Willis of Gary, Ind., Reva Dotson of St. Louis, Mo., and Charlie B. Pritchett of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Ira Allen of Learned; six grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Little Morning Star M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
