Mary Spight Bueschen
GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Ill. Mary Spight Bueschen died Friday, June 27, 2003, in Glendale Heights, Ill. She was 59.
Mrs. Bueschen was born in Vicksburg and moved to Illinois in the early 1970s. She was a resident of Glendale Heights.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy L. Stewart, and her mother, Mary Elizabeth Young.
She is survived by her husband, William Henry Bueschen of Glendale Heights; a sister, Ella Stewart of Los Angeles; one stepdaughter, Laura Lynn Ramsey; two stepsons, William Arthur Bueschen and Larry Louis Ramsey; three grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Mary Gwendolyn Calhoun
OAK GROVE Mary Gwendolyn Calhoun died Friday, July 11, 2003, at Carroll Nursing Home. She was 86.
Mrs. Calhoun was born in Magee and lived in Oak Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Calhoun, and her parents, Elmer and Brunetta Barr.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Elmer Calhoun of Atoka, Okla., and Thomas Ray Calhoun of Augusta, Kan.; two daughters, Linda Jean Harris of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Judy Diann Rinicker of Oak Grove; two brothers, L.L. Barr of Oak Grove and Roy Barr of Roseburg, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cox Chapel-Oak Grove with the Rev. Linda Chappell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the chapel until 9 p.m. today and Sunday until the service.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Joanne Fuller May
Joanne Fuller May died Monday, July 7, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 68.
A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Ms. May was a graduate of Jett High School. She was a retired assistant vice president of First National Bank and a member of Goodrum Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Janie Barker Fuller.
Survivors include a son, Billy Stribling of Vicksburg; two daughters, Donna Clark Smithhart of Brandon and Helen Adcock of Vicksburg; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gordon Cotton, Jay Tidwell, Roger Smithhart, Steve Adcock, Bill Clark, Raymond Kulhavy and Steve Gambrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dixie Breithaupt, Walter May, John Oakes, Lesta Lee, Dr. William Wooten and Dr. John Williams.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Earnest Arvene Spangler
MONROE Earnest Arvene Spangler died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at his home in Monroe. He was 68.
Mr. Spangler was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Don Spangler; and his parents, Ernest J. Spangler and Estelle Spangler.
Survivors include his wife, Etta “Dubbie” Spangler of Monroe; a son, Pete Stephens of Monroe; two brothers, T.A. Spangler of Houston and Billy Ray Spangler of Baytown, Texas; three sisters, Earlene Forsythe of Goodwill, La., Bobby Sue Collum of Oak Grove and Linda Helmer of Monroe; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. J.W. Key officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be until the service today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Rye, Tony Robian, Jason Reeves, Daniel McCarthy, Kevin Crosby and Shag Collum.
