Annie Lee Guider

Annie Lee Guider died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Rosewood Retirement Community in Lafayette, La. She was 92.

Mrs. Guider was born in Yokena to the late Alfred and Lydia Simrall Faulk. She lived in Vicksburg until 1997, when she moved to Lafayette. She worked as society editor, reporter and city editor for the Vicksburg Evening Post for 40 years.

At 83, she graduated from Millsaps College, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in history.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Edward Sanders and Dr. George W. Guider; two sisters, Ruth Faulk and Polly Speed; and a brother, George Speed.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Robinson of Atlanta and Sue Sullivan of Lafayette; eight stepchildren, Warren Guider, Gail Boland, Patricia Sadler, Judy Conerly, Karen Jacob, Janelle Bond, Gwen Neill and Kelly Finch; five grandchildren; 20 stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner, pastor of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home.

Billy Ogden Hall

CLINTON Billy Ogden Hall died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 72.

Born in Bentonia, Mr. Hall was a former resident of Jackson for 40 years before moving to Clinton 18 years ago. He was a graduate of Central High School and Chillicotte Business College.

He retired from Mississippi Farm Bureau Insurance Company in 1992 after 37 years. He was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Clinton, where he served as a deacon and church treasurer.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Box Hall of Clinton; a son, Bradford Hall of Ridgeland; a daughter, Christy Hall Kindred of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Margaret Collins of Vicksburg and Ann Whitehead of Choctaw, Okla.; and five grandchildren.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Providence Presbyterian Church. Burial followed at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home.
