Robert M. Morganti
BRANDON Robert M. Morganti died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 69.
A Clarksdale native, Mr. Morganti had lived in the Brandon area since 1978. He graduated with honors in 1962 from the University of Southern Mississippi and was a veteran of the Air Force.
He worked as office manager at Batte Furniture Co. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a brother, LeRoy Morganti of Benoit; a number of nephews; and other relatives and friends, including Paul Barrett of Vicksburg.
Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Beulah Cemetery in Beulah.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the service at the funeral home.

Rosie Lee Walls-Mims
PORT GIBSON Rosie Lee Walls-Mims died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 82.
Mrs. Mims was a member of the St. Peter M.B. Church in Pattison, Baptist Aid and Christian Aid.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Precious Mims; her parents, George Walls and Mollie Pelmore-Walls; and her siblings.
Survivors include a stepson, Charlie Rucker of Minneapolis, Minn.; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Peter M.B. Church with the Rev. Troy Lee Smith officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson and Tuesday from noon until the time of service at the church.
Betty Jean Weeden
EDWARDS Betty Jean Weeden died Thursday, July 24, 2003 in Edwards. She was 58.
A lifelong resident of Edwards, Ms. Weeden was a member of the St. Mark M.B. Church. She was a shuttle and limousine driver for Isle of Capri Casino for more than 10 years and was a teacher aide and bus driver for Hinds County School District for more than 15 years.
Survivors includer her lifelong companion, David Morgan of Edwards; two sons, Norman Weeden of Edwards and David M. Weeden of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Cheryl N. Livingston of Edwards and Doretha L. Godley of Hattiesburg; a brother, Norman B. Weeden of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Linda J. Dixon and Bessie Ruth Warwick, both of Jackson; and others relatives and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bonner Campbell College in Edwards. Burial will follow at the Hill of Zion Cemetery in Bolton.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lake View Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
William Cook Jr.
UTICA Funeral services for William Cook Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Belmont Baptist Church in Utica with the Rev. Phillip Burks officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Robbins Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. tonight at the funeral home chapel with a wake from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Mr. Cook died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, in Las Vegas. He was 46.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Maggie Carson Cook; two sisters, Dr. Mary Cook Edwardson of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Shirlena Lambert of Atlanta; three brothers, the Rev. Andrew Cook and Walter Lewis Cook, both of Vicksburg, and Robert Earl Cook of Killeen, Texas; and other relatives.
