Joyce Jackson Haskett
INDIANAPOLIS Joyce Jackson Haskett, formerly of Vicksburg, died Saturday, July 26, 2003. She was 50.
Mrs. Haskett was a longtime resident of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Frances Jackson, and her grandparents, Johnnie and Leola Jackson and James and Alberta Cain.
She is survived by her husband, Alonzo Haskett of Indianapolis; a son, Simoan Jackson of Indianapolis; seven sisters, Rose Cosey and Angela Jackson, both of Indianapolis, and Jennie J. Robinson, Betty Shelton, Cynthia Jackson, Linda Jackson and Tangie Jackson, all of Vicksburg; seven brothers, Ernest Jackson, Earl Jackson, Donald Jackson and William Jackson, all of Indianapolis, George Jackson and Robert Jackson, both of Vicksburg, and Charles Jackson of Lakeland, Fla.; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends and other relatives, including Lodis Smith and Thelma Hubbard, both of Vicksburg.
Jenkins Funeral Home in Mansfield, La., has charge of arrangements.
Annie Lee Smith
Annie Lee “Febbie” Smith died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 77.
Mrs. Smith retired after 33 years as a nutritionist with the Vicksburg Warren County Schools. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Hickory Tree Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Walker Jr.; a sister, Rosie Rankin; and a brother, James Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Otha Walker of Vicksburg and Landis Walker of Aurora, Ill.; one brother, Lawson Smith Jr. of Aurora; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Joe T. Smith Sr.
Joe T. “Snuffy” Smith Sr. died Monday, July 28, 2003. He was 58.
Mr. Smith was a native of Jefferson County and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 30 years. He was a lead man for LeTourneau for 28 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fayette and Clara O. McFarland, and a sister, Louise Wells.
Survivors include his wife, Genenne Whittington Smith of Vicksburg; one daughter, Kimberly Coomes of Hattiesburg; two sons, Joe T. Smith Jr. and Keith Smith, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, John Smith of Brookhaven and William Smith of Smithdale; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home with Sam Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Mullins, Stanley Mullins, Carrol Laird, Mark Holland, Roger Powers, Ray Powers, Bobby Odom and Edward “Red” Partridge.
