Luther Kelly “Hawk” Stanford

OAK GROVE n Luther Kelly “Hawk” Stanford died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. He was 74.

Mr. Stanford was born in Oak Grove. He retired from the Air Force and the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Margaret Stanford; his brother, Snow Stanford; his mother, Lucy Stanford and his father, Mece Standford.

Mr. Stanford is survived by two daughters, Louise Warren of Burleson, Texas, and Debra Gill of Nuneaton, Texas; a son, Harold Stanford of Oak Grove; a brother, Cecil Stanford of Oak Grove; a sister, Dora Lee Cox of Oak Grove; amd two grandsons.

Services will be at 2 today at Cox Chapel-Oak Grove with the Rev. Jimbo Herring, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Yates, Shane Ard, Herman Ferrell, Jim Alexander, Russell Bracy and Shannon Corley.
