Annie Lois Bankston
JACKSON, La. Annie Lois Bankston died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Southern Oaks Living Center in Wisner, La. She was 86.
Born in Magee, Mrs. Bankston had lived in Jackson, La., for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Milton Bankston, and her parents, Olivia Ann and Doyle Jackson Butler.
She is survived by a son, Billy Bankston of Jackson; a daughter, Christine White of Sicily Island, La.; a sister, Leona Kennedy of Jackson, Miss.; and four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Kilbourne Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Ratley officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.
George Clark Cummins
George Clark “Chuck” Cummins of Vicksburg died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at his home. He was 69.
A native of Drew, Mr. Cummins was the son of the late W.H. and Mary Clark Cummins. He graduated from Mississippi College and Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he was a member of Alpha Mu Sigma fraternity. He was a system analyst for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for almost 30 years.
He worked as a crewmember for racer Hooker Hood and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, appearing in four movies. He was a bowler, played semi-pro baseball and was a softball umpire.
Mr. Cummins was a veteran of the Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He taught computers at Hinds Junior College for 19 years. He also taught at Porters Chapel Academy and All Saints’ Episcopal School and was a substitute and reading tutor at Warrenton Elementary.
He served on the supervisory committee for Mutual Credit Union for 19 years.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Nell C. Cummins of Vicksburg; a daughter, Sherri Ford of Allen, Texas; two sons, G. Clark Cummins of Southaven and Tom Wilson Cummins of Vicksburg; seven brothers, Billy Cummins, Henry Cummins and David Cummins, all of Drew, Richard Cummins and Ancel Cummins, both of Cleveland, Miss., Jonathan Cummins of Pearl and Gladwin Cummins of Indianola; two sisters, Celeste Rhymes of Hazlehurst and Lydia Pruett of Sheridan, Ark.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mitchell Hedgepeth, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Fisher Funeral Home and from 2 p.m. Tuesday until the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Dawson, Brad Hasty, Ford Emery, Frank Dawson, Tommy Sherman and Randy Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Bob Ford, Dr. Murray Whitaker, Katherine Kennedy, Catherine Lawler, the staff of Mutual Credit Union and the staff and students of Warrenton Elementary.

William Benjamin Johnston
JACKSON William Benjamin Johnston, infant son of Bill and Penny Johnston of Flowood, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Benjamin Adams Jr.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Linda Adams of Ocean Springs and Billy and Viola Johnston of Vicksburg; and aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Cathedral.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson.
James Charles Miller
James Charles Miller died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 66.
Mr. Miller was born in Port Angeles, Wash. He was a graduate of Shelton, Wash., High School and attended Pullman University. He had been a Vicksburg resident for the past 11 years and was a former employee of Motorola with 33 years of service.
He served in the Navy and was a member of the Mississippi Wood Carvers Association and St. Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra L. Miller of Vicksburg; one daughter, Sabrina Kingston-Miles of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two sons, James Miller Jr. of Omaha, Neb., and Jason Miller of Mandeville, La.; a brother, Arthur Miller of Shelton, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas McGing officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Riles Funeral Home with wake at 6:30.
Pallbearers will be Ben Horton, Bill Jones, Randle L. Kincaid, Buddy Hardy, Jim Bryant and Kennith Humphrey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Fumbanks IV and Dr. William Wooten.

Roger D. Richie
Services for Roger D. Richie will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Revs. Ricky Richie and Randell Burge officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Mr. Richie died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at his home. He was 57.
Mr. Richie was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was a former employee of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and The Vicksburg Post.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, and was a member of New Christian Fellowship Church of Port Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Leona Richie, and a brother, Walter L. Richie Jr.
He is survived by two nephews, Ricky Richie and Johnny Richie, both of Vicksburg; one niece, Jeannie Richie Jinkins of Vicksburg; one uncle, Robert McBroom of Vicksburg; and one aunt, Leila Shingler of Vicksburg.
Louise Moses Sadka
MERIDIAN Louise Moses Sadka died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 81.
Mrs. Sadka was born in Vicksburg to Moses and Dorothy Azar Moses. She settled with her husband in Meridian, where they operated Sadka Realty. She attended Mississippi University for Women and was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Meridian.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Louise Sadka, and a brother, Johnny Moses.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Dewey Sadka of Meridian; two sons, Dewey Sadka Jr. and David Sadka; a daughter, Mary Ann Sadka Petro of Jackson; one brother, Moses Moses Jr. of Vicksburg; two sisters, Margaret Moses of Vicksburg and Georgette Moses Petro of Leland; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30 tonight at Webb Funeral Home in Meridian.
