Josie Williams

Josie Williams died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

Mrs. Williams was a member of Cool Springs M.B. Church, where she served on the Mother Board and was a member of the Burial Society. She was also a member of Loving Friendship No. 2 OES. She was a former employee of St. George Orthodox Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Williams; her parents, Joseph and Sally West Johnson; a son, Herman L. Williams Sr.; and a brother, Emmitt Johnson.

Survivors include six sons, Bobby L. Johnson, Sherman L. Williams, Jessie Watson and Herman Williams Jr., all of Vicksburg, Darryl Green of Tallulah and Larry Green of Milwaukee, Wis.; six daughters, Jerry A. Chiplin, Josie L. Green, Rose L. Williams, Latoya G. Williams, Umeika Williams and Tangala Chiplin Hull, all of Vicksburg; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Levernita Harris of Chicago and Percy White, Jimmy Cotton, Verdell Edwards and Bridgit Williams, all of Vicksburg.
