TALLULAH William M. “Bud” Godwin died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 68.

Mr. Godwin was born in Jonesville, La., and had lived in Tallulah for 29 years. He retired from Penrod Drilling Co. and co-owned BAG Escort Service. He attended First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Terwilleger Godwin of Tallulah; a son, Randy L. Godwin of Tallulah; two daughters, Carolyn Adair of New Albany and Sonya Pertuit of Slidell, La.; five sisters, Claudine Coon of Winnfield, La., Gracie LeBlanc of Abbeville, La., Rosa Mae Simmons of Shreveport, Mary Bert Arnold of Jonesville and Louise Burnett of Atlanta; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Anna Lee McCalmon

EPPS Anna Lee McCalmon of Epps died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Richardson Medical Center in Rayville, La. She was 77.

Born in Arkansas, Mrs. McCalmon was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Oma Phaby Scudder, a brother, a sister and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McCalmon is survived by her husband, Eddis Eugene McCalmon Sr. of Epps; two daughters, Brenda Hislop of Joplin, Mo., and Denese Clark of Monroe, La.; four sons, Gary McCalmon, Eddis E. McCalmon Jr. and Bill McCalmon, all of West Monroe, and Randy McCalmon of Epps; a brother, Billy Scudder of Paragould, Ark.; two sisters, Betty Henson of Dallas, and Jo Ann Ownby of California; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cox Chapel in Delhi with the Rev. Alvin Stokes officiating. Burial will follow at Herringville Cemetery in Monticello, La.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.
