Porters Chapel records biggest win of the year

[9/11/03]Lindasy McCool’s two-run single in the top of the eighth inning scored Jessica Massey and Amy Rutledge to give the Lady Eagles (18-6) a 4-2 win over Franklin on Wednesday.

Amy Beaugh, who had two hits, drove in two runs with a double in the top of the sixth inning to break a scorless tie, but Franklin (18-4) came back in the bottom of the sixth to add a pair of runs to tie the game 2-2.

After PCA took took the lead in the eighth, Lauren Johnson retired all three batters she faced in the bottom of the inning for the win. Johnson pitched all eight innings to get the win, and she struck out nine.

The Lady Eagles will find out Friday where they are seeded for the South State tournament.
