Marilynn I. Cappaert

Marilyn I. Cappaert died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.

Born in St. Louis, Mich., Mrs. Cappaert had been a Vicksburg resident since 1948. She was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Claire, Mich. She was a homemaker and a cast member in Vicksburg Theatre Guild’s “Gold in the Hills.”

Mrs. Cappaert was a member of Twin Lakes Hunting Club, St. Michael Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, F.L. Cappaert, and a granddaughter, Laina Bagby.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Cappaert of Vicksburg and Danny Cappaert of Jackson; three daughters, Rae Saget and Marty Walley, both of Vicksburg, and Scat Bagby of Bay City, Texas; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Frank J. Cochran and Alfred Camp officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from noon Friday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Don Miller, Perry Cox, Alex Shiers, German Jordan, Newell Simrall and Dr. F.J. Cane.

Honorary pallbearers will be A.L. and Lois Sullivan, Ed and Jeanette Cox, Pat Reynolds, Ella Mary Cane and Tommye Strickland.

Memorials may be made to Warren-Yazoo Mental Health or to MIDD-West.

Lorene Dotson

Services for Lorene Dotson will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Travelers M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the service at the church.

Mrs. Dotson died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 76.

A homemaker, Mrs. Dotson was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of Loving Friendship Chapter No. 20 Order of Eastern Star and Douglas Park Community Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Penn and Rosette Nelson.

Survivors include her husband, Bennie Dotson of Vicksburg; a daughter, Ruby McDonald of Los Angeles; a brother, Johnny Lee Nelson of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Younger of Vallejo, Calif., and Artie Lee Crumpton of Temple, Texas; and other relatives and friends, including Ella Dotson, Melanie Dotson, Laddie Busari and Carrington Busari.

Jessie Hyman

ANGUILLA Jessie Hyman died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at his home in Anguilla. He was 75.

Mr. Hyman was a native of Yazoo City and had lived in Vicksburg most of his life. He had lived in Anguilla for the past five years. He retired from the Army in 1969.

He is survived by a son, Alvin Hyman of Philadelphia, Pa.; four daughters, Polly McGee and Kay Baker, both of Kaplan, La., Patricia Perkins of Anguilla and Peggy Landry of Mobile, Ala.; and 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Anguilla United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Milner officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Matthew Jones Lattimore Sr.

Services for Matthew Jones Lattimore Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion M.B. Church, Ballground. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and from noon Saturday until the service at the church.

Mr. Lattimore died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at his home. He was 69.

Mr. Lattimore was a member of Mount Zion M.B. Church, Ballground. He retired as a bus driver from the Vicksburg Warren School District.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lattimore.

He is survived by two sons, Matthew J. Lattimore Jr. and Timothy Lattimore, both of Richmond, Va.; seven daughters, Debbie Lattimore and Laura Ann Thomas, both of Vicksburg, and Gloria Jean Lattimore, Irish Lattimore, Brenda Lattimore, Gayl Lattimore and Regina Lattimore, all of Boston, Mass.; four brothers, Marshall Haynes, George Haynes, Ralph Haynes and Billy Ray Allen, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Anna Long of Chicago and Sophia Clark of Vicksburg; and grandchildren and other relatives.
