[9/21/03]Porters Chapel avenged last season’s postseason disappointment Saturday with a victory over rival Deer Creek to advance to the state fast-pitch softball tournament.

The Lady Eagles added two more wins Saturday for seeding sake.

Porters Chapel, which needed a win in the first game Saturday to advance, scored four runs in the sixth inning to beat Deer Creek, 5-2. Lindsey McCool’s two-RBI single highlighted the four-run outburst. PCA torched Deer Creek standout pitcher Mary Margaret Barnett for 18 hits in eliminating Deer Creek.
