Kenneth Layne O’Neal

DELHI Kenneth Layne O’Neal died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. He was 66.

Mr. O’Neal graduated from Delhi High School in 1955 and attended Northeast Louisiana University. He served in the Marine Corps from 1957 through1960.

He was a member of the Delhi Jaycees, a volunteer for the Delhi Fire Department and was a charter member of the Delhi Ambulance Service.

Mr. O’Neal was the former owner of the Delhi Dispatch and Ken’s Printing and Office Supplies. He also served as Richland Parish Justice of the Peace, Ward 1, for 28 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Felton Lavon O’Neal of Delhi.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy Joyce Benton O’Neal of Delhi; a daughter, Karen O. Blake of Topeka, Ind.; two sons, Kenneth Layne O’Neal Jr. of West Monroe and Koby Ray O’Neal of Monroe; his mother, Minnie Ross O’Neal of Delhi; his brother, Ronald O’Neal of Houston; three grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Delhi with Dr. Marcus Murphy and the Rev. Pat Loftin officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Faith Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will from 4 until 8 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi.

Pallbearers will be James Curry, Bud LaPrarie, Hershel Morris, Doug Pettey, Windell Robbins, Roy Stapp and Jimmy Strong.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cleat Prisock, Charles Godard, Howard Spradling and Raymond Russell.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Delhi.

Kelly Denise Presley

Kelly Denise Presley died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at University Medical in Jackson. She was 40.

Born in Vicksburg, Miss Presley had been a Jackson resident for the past six years. She was a graduate of Warren Central High School and attended Hinds Community College, the University of Louisiana at Monroe and the University of California.

She was a certified massage therapist.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pam Presley Keen.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Gene and Jean Presley of Vicksburg; three brothers, Mark Presley and Kacy Presley, both of Vicksburg, and Michael Presley of Bentonia; a stepbrother, Tryon Rosser of Atlanta; and a stepsister, Lauret Taylor of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Green Acres Memorial Park. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the service at the funeral home.

Nancy L. Richardson

Nancy L. Richardson died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 60.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Richardson was employed at Corner Drug Store for nearly 30 years. She was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church, Paddlewheelers Square Dance Club, Quilting Club and Antique Engine Club of Vicksburg.

She is preceded in death by her parents, H.H. and Othe Davis Meadows.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Richardson of Vicksburg; her son, Bailey Richardson of Rayville, La.; her daughter, Susan Richardson Denham of Tupelo; a brother, Larry “Jake” Meadows of Gallman; and three grandchildren.

Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
