Leo Jarvis
BRANDON Leo Jarvis died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 79.
Mr. Jarvis was a native of Kemper County and a longtime resident of Rankin County. He was a member of Brandon Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder emeritus.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and was an employee of Southern Natural Gas. He was former president of the Brandon Lions Club and a member of the Brandon Methodist Bridge Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Rose Jarvis of Brandon; two daughters, Vivien Jarvis Moore of Brandon and Melba Jarvis Whitaker of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, Wendell Jarvis of Vicksburg; two sisters, Cleo Gully of Preston and Bobbie Jean Creekmore of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Robert J. Jarvis of Pearl; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Burial will follow at Brandon Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is today from 3 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bearletha Holmes Nichols
BOLTON Bearletha Holmes Nichols died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at her daughter’s home in Edwards. She was 93.
Mrs. Nichols was a member of Orange Hill M.B. Church in Bolton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Nichols Sr.; her parents, Anthony and Missouri Holmes; two children, Clyde Nichols Jr., and Willie Ruth Gaddis, and 11 siblings.
She is survived by two daughters, Agnes Murray of Edwards and Lucile Heard of Clinton; two sons, McClinty Nichols and M.C. Nichols, both of Bolton; and 36 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Orange Hill M.B. Church in Bolton. Burial will follow at Orange Hill M.B. Church Cemetery with Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home of Vicksburg in charge.
Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Monday at Lakeover Funeral Home in Jackson.
