Kyrean Camille Chambers died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 39.

A resident of Vicksburg, Miss Chambers was a 1982 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She attended Tougaloo College, American General College and Hinds Community College School of Nursing. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She served as the secretary of the Vicksburg Posse Truck Club.

Survivors include a son, Kameron Earl Reed of Vicksburg; a daughter, Kelsye A. Reed of Vicksburg; her parents, Thomas Chambers and Floriece Chambers, both of Vicksburg; three sisters, Kymmeria Chambers and Nikita Chambers, both of Vicksburg and Demetra Chambers of Starkville; her grandfather, Manuel Bland of Vicksburg; her stepfather, Tommy Caston of Vicksburg; aunts, uncles and cousins; and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Boykins officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation and rosary will be from 6 until 7 Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ruby Corrine Gordon

CALHOUN CITY, Miss. Ruby Corrine Gordon died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Miss. She was 85.

A resident of Calhoun City, Miss., Mrs. Gordon was the daughter of Earnest Curtis and Mary Emma Vanlandingham Robertson. She was a member of Port Gibson Baptist Church and was a former employee of Sunflower Laundry, Glenn Slacks and the Department of Human Services.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odes Lee Gordon; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include two daughters, Maurice Wills of Stewart, Miss., and Carol Ann Smith of Port Gibson; a son, Dwayne Gordon of Calhoun City; two sisters, Christine Kyle of Clarksdale and Shirley Carnes of Elliott, Miss.; six brothers, Elmo Robertson, E.O. Robertson and J.W. Robertson, all of Clarksdale, Tommy Robertson of Grenada, James Ray Robertson of Biloxi and Ricky Robertson of Tupelo; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, Miss., with the Rev. Danny Spratlin officiating. Burial will follow at Bruce Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Edna Whitaker Hatchett

Services for Edna Whitaker Hatchett will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Hatchett died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 81.

She was a resident of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Hatchett; her parents, Austin and Patsy Whitaker; four brothers, Leon Whitaker, George Whitaker, Albert Whitaker and James Whitaker; four sisters, Theresa Nash, Lucille Brumfield, Rosie Stewart and Mary Helen Lee; and a grandson.

Survivors include a son, George Calvin Sr. of Vicksburg; a sister, Susie Mae Tolliver of Aurora, Ill.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives, including Aaron Shone Walker of Vicksburg.

Elizabeth Scott Lowe

Services for Elizabeth “Lil” Scott Lowe will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greater Mount Lebanon M.B. Church with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Lowe died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst, Ga. She was 78.

A homemaker, Mrs. Lowe was a member of Greater Mount Lebanon M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by one son, James A.G. Lowe Jr.; her husband, James A.G. Lowe Sr.; and her parents, Robert and Louetta Butler Scott.

She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Garnes of Atlanta, Louetta Lowe of Vicksburg, Ruth Gordon of Jackson and Barbara Lawyer of Houston, Texas; one brother, Donald Scott of Atlanta; three sisters, Dorothy Harleston and Betty Kernegay, both of Hazlehurst, and Lillian S. Scober of New York, N.Y.; and other relatives.

Rosa L. Stephens

OAK GROVE Rosa L. Stephens died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. She was 93.

Mrs. Stephens was a resident of Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.L. Stephens Sr.; two sons, O.L. Stephens Jr. and James C. “Sammy” Stephens; her parents, Christopher Columbus and Lois Elizabeth Capers; five brothers, Vernon Capers, Claude Calvin Capers, Julian Capers, James Albert Capers and Willie Eugene Capers; and two sisters, Avie Gray and Lorraine Clay.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Artis Stephens of Kilbourne, La., and Norman Ray Stephens of Oak Grove; two daughters, Lois Marionneaux of Richmond, Ken., and Ginger Petrus of West Monroe; a brother, Bobby Capers of Oak Grove; two sisters, Iris Mathews of Oak Grove and Juanita Conners of Waynesburg, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Oak Grove with the Revs. Patrick Petrus, Allen Stephens and Mike Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Visitation will be from 2 until 9 tonight at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Edward Stephens, Mike Stephens, Keith Stephens, Wayne Petrus, Steve Marionneaux and Eric Stephens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Stephens, Greg Stephens, Robert Becker, John Becker, Bobby Petrus, Bill Petrus, Daren Marionneaux and Willie Capers.
