Christy Huskey
Christy Huskey died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 21.
A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, she was a 2003 graduate of Warren Central High School.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Delbert W. Huskey, and her maternal grandfather, Andrew “Sonny” Thrash.
She is survived by her father and stepmother, Barney and Ann Huskey of Byram; her mother and stepfather, Terri and Bob Harrison of Eagle Lake; two half-brothers, Kyle Huskey and Eric Huskey, both of Byram; her paternal grandmother, Joyce Huskey of Vicksburg; her maternal grandparents, C.P. and Shirley Clay of Valley Park; and her maternal great-grandfather, C.C. Thrash of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Harrison, Michael Lee, Doug Huskey and David Thrash.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Debbie Smith and Rachael Rankin.
Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Dell Ross Pyron
Dell Ross Pyron died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at her daughter’s home. She was 85.
A native of Carroll County, Miss., Mrs. Pyron was the daughter of the late Orman F. Ross and Estelle McGaugh Ross Turner. She lived in Vicksburg and was a former resident of Indianola. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pyron was preceded in death by her husband, W.F. Pyron; a son, O. Fletcher Pyron; her stepfather, Thomas Turner; and a brother, Orman C. Ross.
Survivors include a daughter, Dell P. Rogers of Vicksburg; a son, Marvin Pyron of St. Charles, Mo.; five sisters, Leona Ross Brownlow of Hattiesburg, Josephine Ross Moseley of Blackhawk, Miss., and Lynn Ross Johnson, Vivian Ross Shute and Hazel Turner Penn, all of Greenville; a brother, Thomas Turner Jr. of Greenville; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Indianola. Burial will follow at Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Card Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the service Thursday at the church.

Juanita E. Huffman Ragsdale
OAK GROVE Juanita E. Huffman Ragsdale died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, in Lincoln, Neb. She was 85.
A native of Dubach, La., Mrs. Ragsdale lived in Lincoln and was a former resident of Oak Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Ragsdale.
Survivors include a son, John Ragsdale of Lincoln; one brother, T.D. Huffman of Bernice, La.; and a grandson, Ryan Ragsdale of Omaha, Neb.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove with Dr. Jeff Jinks officiating. Burial followed at Fellowship Cemetery in Dubberly, La., under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
Jessie C. Rhodes
DELHI Jessie C. Rhodes died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, La. She was 88.
Born in Port Gibson, Mrs. Rhodes lived in Winnsboro and was a former resident of Delhi. She was a member of Delhi Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Cecil G. Rhodes of Winnsboro; two daughters, Karyn McComb of Eugene, Ore., and Mary Sue Williams of Delhi; a sister, Alys McCormick of Little Rock, Ark.; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with the Rev. Paul Lipe officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. Thursday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Bonnette, Jeffery Bonnette, Ben Brooks, M. L. Miller, Jimmy Rhodes Jr. and Larry Sanchez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pete McEacharn, J.K. Sehon and Frank O’Neal.
Marilyn Kay Soben
INTERLACHEN, Fla. Marilyn Kay Soben, a former resident of Vicksburg, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, in Jacksonville. She was 49.
Mrs. Soben was a bookkeeper with C&W Trucking in Hollister, Fla., and was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Interlachen, Fla. While living in Vicksburg, she was employed by Waste Management.
She is survived by a son, Cody Tullar of Interlachen; two daughters, Donna Crandal of Interlachen and Angel Woodward of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Michael Brown of Palatka, Fla., and Steven Brown of Lake City, Fla.; two sisters, Sandra Beckham of Ocala, Fla., and Joan Moran of Woodbine, Ga.; six grandchildren; and extended family, including the Sellers, Beard, Lynch and Hennington families, currently and formerly of Vicksburg.
Services were Saturday with Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home & Crematory of Interlachen in charge of arrangements.
