Scott B. Fedrick Jr.

Scott B. Fedrick Jr. died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, in Galveston, Texas. He was 40.

A house painter, Mr. Fedrick lived most of his life in Vicksburg and had been a Texas resident for the past six years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Scott B. Fedrick Sr., and his stepfather, Ezekiel Ramshur Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Carmon Fedrick; five sons, Daryl Fedrick of Virginia and Scott Fedrick III, Nicholas Fedrick, Matthew Fedrick and Christopher Fedrick, all of Vicksburg; two daughters, Melissa Fedrick and Danielle Fedrick, both of Virginia; his mother, Eva Lee Ramshur of Vicksburg; two brothers, Eddie Fedrick and James Ramshur, both of Vicksburg; a stepbrother, Ezekiel Ramshur Jr. of Monroe, La.; three sisters, Teresa Morin and Nancy Ramshur, both of Vicksburg, and Tammie Echols of Lindale, Texas; and a stepsister, Jeanie Ramshur of New Orleans.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Rick McAlister officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Michael Toran Floyd

NORCROSS, Ga. Services for Michael Toran Floyd will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Floyd died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, in Norcross, Ga. He was 29.

A resident of Norcross, Mr. Floyd was a truck driver for Metropolitan Trucking Co. He was a 1992 graduate of Warren Central High School, and he attended Alcorn State University.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tommy and Mable Jackson, Bessie Lee Walker and Abe Floyd Sr.

Survivors include his parents, Abe and Betty Floyd Jr. of Vicksburg; three brothers, Abe Floyd III of Jonesboro, Ga., and Darryl Floyd and Tommy Jackson, both of Norcross; a sister, Doris Fisher of Vicksburg; his grandmother, Mary Floyd of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends, including Terrel Loving of Vicksburg.

Matthew Orlvin Jr.

DETROIT Matthew “Matt” Orlvin Jr. died Monday, Nov. 11, 2003, at St. John-McComb County Hospital in Detroit. He was 83.

A resident of Detroit, Mr. Orlvin was a Navy veteran, having served in World War II. He was a retired electrician for General Motors and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Annie Rush; and his parents, Matthew Orlvin Sr. and Lillie Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Johnson Orlvin of Detroit; a daughter, Janie Smith of Delta Junction, Alaska; a brother, Willie Moore of Lansing, Mich.; four grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and other relatives, including Willie James Smith of Delta Junction.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Mary Stewart

TALLULAH Mary Stewart died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at her home in Tallulah. She was 67.

Mrs. Stewart was a resident of Tallulah.

Survivors include her husband, Rudolph Stewart of Tallulah; a son, Randolph “Randy” Stewart of Tallulah; a daughter, Helen Jones of Tallulah; her mother, Pearlie Washington of Tallulah; a sister, Susie Keapon of St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Kingdom Baptist Church in Tallulah. Burial will follow at Oak Wood Cemetery under the direction of Beckwith Golden Gate Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
