Parker scores 4 to secure state mark

[11/12/03]Brandi Parker is the new queen of Mississippi girls soccer.

The Vicksburg High senior scored four goals to give her 138 in her five-year career in an 11-0 win over Natchez.

Parker surpasses fellow Missy Gator Kristin Chapman on the all-time scoring list. Chapman ended her stellar career with 136 goals. Chapman played for only four years. Going by a four-year career, Parker is still 14 goals behind Chapman.

Lucy Matthews, Holly Head and Beverly Simmons each scored two goals in the clowout victory.

Parker, a Mississippi State recruit, and the rest of the Missy Gators will be at home on Thursday against Florence at 5:30 p.m. The games will be played in Bovina while the football playoffs are ongoing.

Brandon Amacker scored two goals to lead the Class 5A Cougars past St. Aloysius.

Northwest Rankin improved to 1-0-1 on the season. The Flashes fell to 0-2.

(G) NW Rankin 11, St. Al 0

There would be no win in the Lady Flashes second game as a program.

Playing against a powerful Lady Cougars team, the Lady Flashes were beaten with ease.

Mallory Legg and Hannah Tyler scored two goals each in the victory.
