Conley Byron Hale
DELHI, La. Conley Byron Hale died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi. He was 72.
Mr. Hale was born in West Carroll Parish and was a resident of Pioneer, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Howard Hale and Allie Irene Hale.
He is survived by his wife, Nannie Gardner Hale of Pioneer; five daughters, Connie Saucer of West Monroe, Debbie Corley of Epps, Susan Phillips of Monroe, and Penny Hale and Tracey Pruitt, both of Pioneer; two brothers, Eugene Hale of Pioneer and Billy Hale of Epps; one sister, Allie Van Cleve of Dallas; and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Hope Church of God in Pioneer with the Revs. Fred Hale, Todd Perry and Bob Schlemmer officiating. Burial will follow at New Forest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Goode, Prentis Hemphill, Shelton Ezell, Craig Hale, David Gardner and Adam Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul McMurray, Bill Lofton, Philip Stafford, Joseph Payne and Walter S. Hillman.
Eddie Lowe
Eddie Lowe died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Heritage House Nursing Home. He was 75.
Mr. Lowe was a retired steward and member of Greater Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Lowe Sr. and Priscilla Irwin Lowe; five brothers, Adolphus Lowe Sr., Everett Lowe, LaSalle Lowe, James A.G. Lowe Sr. and Harrison Lowe Sr.; and three sisters, Amy Robinson, Perry Stewart and Priscilla Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn White Lowe of Vicksburg; one son, Donnie Lowe of Vicksburg; two daughters, Greta Lowe and Vicki Moore, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Sylvester Lowe Jr. of Chicago and Jasper Lowe Sr. of Memphis; three sisters, Opsy L. Dorsey and Odessa Elmore, both of Vicksburg, and Mahalia Taylor of Memphis; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Nicie Flowers Meekins
Nicie Flowers Meekins died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 90.
A homemaker, Mrs. Meekins was a member and mother at Mount Ararat M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Meekins Sr.; her parents, William and Sina Bingham Flowers; three daughters, Alva Meeks, Charlotte Williams Smith and Alberta Meekins; three brothers, Dennis Flowers Sr., William Flowers and Hugh Flowers; and three sisters, Virginia Flowers, Alberta Robinson and Ella Mae Tibbs.
Survivors include three sons, John Meekins and Charles A. Meekins Jr. of Vicksburg and George Meekins of Atlanta; two daughters, Magnoria Smothers of Atlanta and Ruthe Lowe of Vicksburg; 24 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Sadie Foster Walters
FAYETTE Sadie Foster Walters died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Forest Hill Nursing Home in Jackson. She was 81.
Mrs. Walters was a native of Jefferson County and a homemaker. She attended Waterloo Baptist Church in Lorman, where she was a member of the Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Burnell Foster; and her parents, Johnny Foster and Mattie Bell Bingham.
Survivors include two sons, Leroy Walters Jr. and Burnell Walters, both of Fayette; four daughters, Mattie Liggans of Vicksburg, Shirley Walker of Terry, Lyndell Tenner of Natchez and Marilyn Davis of Mountville, Pa.; one sister, Estella Bridges of Columbia, Miss.; and 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Waterloo M.B. Church with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery in Russum.
Visitation will be from 1 until 7 tonight at Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.
