Ione W. Bramblett

Ione “Miss Ione” W. Bramblett died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at her home. She was 80.

Born in Warren County to the late Clarence and Cora Hall Whitaker, Mrs. Bramblett was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School. She owned and operated Ione’s Grocery in the Kings Community for 46 years until her retirement a year ago.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie McCarty; and three brothers, Clint Whitaker, Felix Whitaker and Lester Whitaker.

Survivors include a son, Jim Bramblett of Vicksburg; a sister, Gussie Jennings of Ocean Springs; a brother, Ernest O. Whitaker of Redwood; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Clarence Whitaker, Mark Roland, Charles Hanks, Jamie Yearwood, Robert Smith, Hugh Hasty, Martin Pace and John Bell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Clark, Paul Barrett, Rick Hanks, Stan Whitaker, Randy Sherard and Wayne Roddy.

Jason DeWayne Driver

TALLULAH Jason DeWayne Driver died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 26.

Born in Delhi, Mr. Driver had been a resident of Sondheimer, La., for most of his life. He was a salesman for O’Reileys Auto Parts.

He is survived by his parents, William L. Jr. and Joyce Driver; two brothers, Russell “Rusty” Driver and Johnny Driver, both of Sondheimer; his grandparents, Loretta Driver of Sondheimer and Russell and Katherine Jones of Sondheimer; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. Neal Raborn officiating.

Visitation will be until the service at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Driver, Bobby Jones, Seth Jones, B.J. White, Jessie Lopez and Robert Lopez.

Eddie L. Harden

Eddie L. Harden died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 59.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Harden was a member of Morning Star Seventh Day Adventist Church. He received a bachelor of science in physical therapy from Missouri State University, a master of science in education from Jackson State University and a juris doctorate from Mississippi College.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Harden.

Survivors include his wife, Celeste Harden of Vicksburg; four sons, Kenneth Glenn of Richland, Calif., Oliver Harden of Columbia, S.C., Martin Perkins of Jackson and Edward Harden of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Veronica Glenn Jones of Atlanta, Ga., and Natasha Jefferys of Kernersville, N.C.; his mother, Emma Crenshaw Harden of Pritchard, Ala.; eight brothers, Lee Harden, Charlie Harden and Jimmy Harden, all of Mobile, Ala., Charles Harden and William Harden, both of Pritchard; Clarence Harden of Beaumont, Texas, Wilbert Harden of Springfield, Ill., and Samuel Harden of Valley, Ala.; three sisters, Louise Rogers of Sacramento, Calif., Leila H. Green of Dallas and Lillie Minor of Mobile; 11 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

McKinley Harris Sr.

Services for McKinley “Big Mac” Harris Sr. will be at noon Wednesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness with William Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Harris died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 75.

He was a Vicksburg resident and a retired construction worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie Harris Sr. and Beatrice Wilson Harris; and a brother, Tom Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Delois Harris of Vicksburg; a son, McKinley Harris Jr. of Vicksburg; and a grandson, William McKinley Harris of Wilson, N.C.

Lucy Robinson Hovious

Lucy Robinson Hovious died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 76.

Born in Jackson to the late John W. and Lucy Enoch Robinson, Mrs. Hovious was a graduate of Central High School. She attended Mississippi State College for Women and was a graduate of Millsaps College. She was a former member of the Junior League of Jackson, where she once served as a queen of the Carnival Ball.

Mrs. Hovious had been a Vicksburg resident for the past 47 years. She was a former member of the Vicksburg Junior Auxiliary and a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Nat Hovious Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Nat Hovious of Vicksburg; a daughter, Lucy Weber of Madison; two sisters, Margaret Robinson and Ida Wickham, both of Asheville, N.C.; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home with Dr. John G. McCall, pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at noon at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Jackson.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Melvis Scarborough, Mitchell Wickham, John Robinson, Joe Lidell, Hugh J. Freeman and Randy Little.
