Eddie L. Harden
Services for Eddie L. Harden will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Heights Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3220 Forest Ave., in Jackson. Burial will follow at Autumn Wood Cemetery in Jackson under the direction of Williams Funeral Service in Vicksburg.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Harden died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 60.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Harden was a member of Morning Star Seventh Day Adventist Church. He received a bachelor of science in physical therapy from the University of Missouri, a master of science in education from Jackson State University and a juris doctorate from Mississippi College.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Harden.
Survivors include his wife, Celeste Harden of Vicksburg; four sons, Kenneth Glenn of Richland, Calif., Oliver Harden of Columbia, S.C., Martin Perkins of Jackson and Edward Harden of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Veronica Glenn Jones of Atlanta, Ga., and Natasha Jefferys of Kernersville, N.C.; his mother, Emma Crenshaw Harden of Pritchard, Ala.; eight brothers, Lee Harden, Charlie Harden and Jimmy Harden, all of Mobile, Ala., Charles Harden and William Harden, both of Pritchard; Clarence Harden of Beaumont, Texas, Wilbert Harden of Springfield, Ill., and Samuel Harden of Valley, Ala.; three sisters, Louise Rogers of Sacramento, Calif., Leila H. Green of Dallas and Lillie Minor of Mobile; 11 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Lillie Price Oatis
Services for Lillie Price Oatis will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Bovina with the Rev. Frank Gardner Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home and from noon until the service Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Oatis died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.
A native of Nitta Yuma, Mrs. Oatis was a housewife and homemaker and a longtime resident of Vicksburg. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Bovina.
Mrs. Oatis was preceded in death by her husband, Bersie Oatis; a son, Exell Foster; a daughter, Jessie Mae Magsby; two sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by her sister, Mary White of Greenville; six grandchildren, including two she reared, Carl Otis of Atlanta, Ga., and Darlene Johnson of Vicksburg; and three great-grandchildren.
