Workers from United Scaffolding Inc. climb to the top of the old Warren County Courthouse Sunday to set up scaffolding for repairs to the 145-year-old building that houses the Old Court House Museum-Eva W. Davis Memorial on Cherry Street. The work, which is expected to be completed in July, will include the removal and replacement of the copper roof along with flashing, parapet covers and repairs to the stucco and restoration on the gables. Work will also be done on dentils, cornices, friezes and porches. The total cost of the work by contractors Mayrant and Associates of Jackson is $800,632, and it is being financed by Warren County and the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. The workers making up time Sunday for the lost Thanksgiving Day are Shannon Craig, left, and John Collins, who are moving scaffolding around near the top of the courthouse.(Jon Giffin The Vicksburg Post)
