Julian Bradshaw
ROLLING FORK Julian Bradshaw died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 78.
Mr. Bradshaw was a lifelong resident of Rolling Fork. He was a towboat engineer with Valley Towing of Memphis for 27 years. A Navy veteran, he served in World War II.
He was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Jo Bradshaw of Rolling Fork; two sons, Robert Terry Bradshaw of Waxahachie, Texas, and Jackie Brooks Bradshaw of Mission, Texas; a daughter, Wanda Welch of Vidalia, La.; two brothers, Leland Bradshaw of Lake Village, Ark., and Billy Bradshaw of Angleton, Texas; two sisters, Margie Mallow of Pryor, Okla., and Jessie Mae Goza of San Antonio, Texas; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Deer Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
Robert Henry Burns
Robert Henry Burns died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 79.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Burns was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clyde Smith; and his parents, Mattie Wilmore and Jeff Burns Jr.
Survivors include five brothers, Lee Manual Burns of Vicksburg, Lee Cane Burns of Buffalo, N.Y., Frank Burns and George Burns, both of Chicago, and Charles Burns of Aurora, Ill.; a sister, Dorothy Tatum of Dolton, Ill.; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.
Truly Chambliss Jr.
Services for Truly Chambliss Jr. will be at noon Tuesday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Malcolm Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Chambliss died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 58.
He was employed at Anderson-Tully Co. and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Chambliss was preceded in death by his parents, Truly and Rose Chambliss.
He is survived by a son, Paul Chambliss of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter, Amy Chambliss Okolie of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and friends and other relatives, including members of the Powell and Chambers families of Vicksburg and Fayette.
Victor T. King
Victor T. King died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 66.
Mr. King spent most of his life in Newellton and had lived in Vicksburg for the past two years. He was a truck driver for L.E. Tucker Trucking Co.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys S. King of Vicksburg; two sons, John King of Biloxi and Doug Hardy of Ruston, La.; two daughters, Carol Davis and Susie Pisquia, both of Biloxi; two brothers, Don King of Pasadena, Texas, and Ward King of Ferriday, La.; a sister, Carolyn Bass of Vidor, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. today until the service at the funeral home.
William Patrick McCormack Sr.
TITUSVILLE, Fla. William Patrick McCormack Sr. died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in Titusville, Fla. He was 73.
Born in Vicksburg to Joseph and Rose Eleanor McCormack, Mr. McCormack was a resident of Titusville. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and Mississippi State University. He was a Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard (CV-31).
Mr. McCormack retired from McDonnell Douglas Corporation after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Parrish Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Barnes and Betty Brown; and two brothers, John McCormack and Charles McCormack.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo McCormack of Titusville; two daughters, Patti Sharek of Bradenton, Fla., and Kelly McCormack of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Bill McCormack of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Catherine Goodrum of Newport Beach, Calif., and Joan Trahan of Vicksburg; a brother, Joe McCormack of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Titusville under the direction of North Brevard Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Teresa’s Building Fund, 201 Obijway Ave., Titusville, FL 32780 or to the St. Aloysius School Building Fund.
Ernest Aden Rials Jr.
Services for Ernest Aden “Ernie” Rials Jr. will be at 2 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick McAlister, pastor of New Vision Family Worship Center, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon today until the service at the funeral home.
Members of the Vicksburg High School football team will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Rials was the son of Ernest Aden “Pete” Rials Sr. and Vickie Lee White Crutchfield and Tommy Crutchfield. He was a student at Vicksburg High School, where he was a member of the football team.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willie D. Rials; and his grandparents, Charlie and Violet White.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, June Aden Rials of Vicksburg; three sisters, Violet Rials, Lindsey Rials and Tiffany Crutchfield, all of Vicksburg; and a brother, Tommy Crutchfield Jr. of Vicksburg.
Peter G. Strickland
Peter G. “Pete” Strickland died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 58.
Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Strickland was the son of the late William Floyd and Virginia Irvin Strickland. He served in the Army during Vietnam and was a former employee of the City of Vicksburg, serving as superintendent of the Gas Department.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Vicksburg Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joann S. Hearn.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca H. Strickland of Vicksburg; two daughters, Rebecca Rice and Karah Strickland, both of Vicksburg; and three brothers, James Strickland and W.F. Strickland, both of Vicksburg, and Clarence Legrand of Reserve, La.
