Lady Vikes notch 7-0 win over Natchez

[1/4/04]Ingrid Gonzalez and Kristine Fischenich each scored a pair of goals as Warren Central slammed Natchez, 7-0, for its first Division 6-5A win of the season.
With a win on Friday against lowly Forest Hill, the Lady Vikes (5-8-1) will guarantee themselves a playoff spot.
Kara Cretsinger, Liza Kate Chaney and Chelsa Jones scored one goal each for WC.
Megan Wolebon had two assists, while Valera Vollor and Fischenich each recorded on assist. WC outshot Natchez, 25-0.
St. Aloyisus 1, McComb 0
Andrea Harrison’s goal on a corner kick 15 minutes into the second half was all the Lady Flashes needed to shut out the host team in the McComb Tournament.
St. Aloysius defeated North Pike, 3-1, on Friday in the first round games after falling in the opener, 3-1, to Terry.
The Lady Flashes (7-7) were playing with only 11 players and goalie Lindsay Hall played with a broken finger.
“I am really proud of the way the girls played,” St. Al coach Karen Carroll said.
In the North Pike win, Shana Stanton, Hayley Davis and Harrison scored one goal each.
Stanton scored one goal in the loss to Terry.
St. Aloysius is scheduled to play at Natchez Cathedral on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Holly Head’s penalty kick nine minutes into the second half gave the Vicksburg Missy Gators (8-4-1) a 2-1 win over Ruston in the second game of the day.
Earlier in the day, the Missy Gators allowed two late goals in falling to Acadiana, the seventh-ranked team in Louisiana.
Brandi Parker scored the first goal of the game less than two minutes into the match against Acadiana, but the Louisiana power changed defenses quickly, shutting down Mississippi’s all-time leading scorer.
Head scored a second-half goal on an assist from goalie Megan Humphries to knot the game at 2-2 before Acadiana answered twice.
In the Ruston win, Lucy Matthews scored a first-half goal on an assist from Head as the two teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
Vicksburg will host Natchez on Tuesday.
