Joan W. Thomas died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson. She was 64.

Born in Irvin, Ky., Mrs. Thomas had lived in Vicksburg for the past 32 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Warrenton Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene I. Thomas.

Survivors include three sons, Roy Thomas and John Thomas, both of Vicksburg, and Gene Thomas Jr. of Nashville; two daughters, Lavonne T. Prince and Angel Dawn Thomas, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Edwin Webb of Rockholds, Ky.; two sisters, Jean Moses of Williamsburg, Ky., and Sue Mullins of Pahrump, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Rolland officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Smith Jr., Billy Thornell, Matthew Prince, Timmy Lampkin, Joe Mocknick, Jay Prince, Timothy Hynum and Mike Hudson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Patterson, Frances Patterson, Orville Thomas, Russell Thomas, Erik Stump and Mike Hardesty.

Truelove Bertha Brown Walker

DELHI Truelove Bertha Brown Walker died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004. She was 94.

Mrs. Walker was born in Tarrant County, Texas, and was a longtime Delhi resident before moving to Thibodaux, La. She attended Pentecost Tabernacle in Delhi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer Brown Sr.; and one son, Homer Brown Jr.

She is survived by a son, Henry Brown of Delhi; two daughters, Alice Pearson of Crossett, Ark., and Louise B. Walker of Houma, La.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pentecost Tabernacle Church in Delhi with the Rev. Gethern Self officiating. Burial will follow at Epps Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi.

Pallbearers will be Bennie Stanley, Danny Ray Mitchell, David Brown, Henry E. Brown, Tommy Pearson Jr. and Kevin Pearson.
