St. Al drops two to MSD

[1/16/04]Despite 24 points from Anthony Rector and 19 from Kyle Richards, St. Aloysius fell to the Mississippi School for the Deaf, 63-59.

The loss drops the Flashes (6-10, 4-2 Region 7-1A) out of a tie for first place in the region.

The Bulldogs led 27-26 at the half and pulled ahead to 45-38 in the third quarter.

“In the second half, they just got out and ran, and that’s not our style,” St. Al coach Paul Hayden said.

In the girls game, Angela Scott scored a game-high 17 points to lead MSD past St. Al 52-41.

Sarah Kerut netted 12 points for the Lady Flashes (7-9, 3-3), and Caitlin Moak added 10.
