Alma Ruth Bagby

BASTROP, La. Alma Ruth Bagby died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at her home in Bastrop, La. She was 67.

Mrs. Bagby was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Oral Bagby; a son, Herman Glenn Bagby; and her parents, Wayne Burrell and Lillian Ruth Cole.

Survivors include a son, James Bagby of Bastrop; three daughters, Deborah Ketten, Patricia Ellerbe and Ollileen Edison, all of Bastrop; a sister, Louise Condenzia of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Helen Freeman of Oak Grove.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Revs. Jimmy Herring and Don Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Red Wing Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Doug Philley, Curtis Armstrong, Ronnie Armstrong, Dwayne Bagby, Oman Rutherford and David Crimes.

Albert D. Cronia IV

GAINESVILLE, Ga. Albert D. “Chip” Cronia IV died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, in Gainesville, Ga. He was 44.

A lifelong resident of Gainesville, Mr. Cronia was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He attended Gainesville College and was a volunteer coach with the Gainesville Parks and Recreation and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hall County. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Meta and Albert Cronia of Gainesville; two sons, Chipper Cronia and Murray Cronia, both of Gainesville; two brothers, Forrest Cronia of Florence, S.C., and John Cronia of Gainesville; two sisters, Clair Cronia of Hornby Island, British Columbia, and Missy Theobald of Vicksburg; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends, including Maisie Ingram and the George Cronia family, all of Vicksburg.

Services were at 4 p.m. Thursday at Little-Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Ferdinand Justin Glassl

Ferdinand Justin “Dutch” Glassl died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 80.

Born in Warren County, Mr. Glassl was the son of the late Ferdinand Anthony and Amye Irene Boone Glassl. He retired from the Waterways Experiment Station paint shop in 1970 after 25 years of service. He was an Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was a former member of the Paddle Wheeler Square Dance Club and the Big Rack Hunting Club. He was a communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Mr. Glassl was preceded in death by three sisters; two brothers; and a grandson, Anthony Justin “A.J.” Scott.

Survivors include his wife, Doris F. Glassl of Vicksburg; two daughters, Annie Doris “Ann” Glassl Tabor of Pearl and Amye Glassl Scott of Vicksburg.

A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Farrell, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home with a vigil service at 7.

Pallbearers will be P.C. Cummins, Ronnie Pownall, Billy Foster, Danny Boler, Glen Foster, Jay Tidwell, Robert Smith and Robert Barnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Kette, John Kolb, Joe Canizaro, Jones Conrad, Marion Beasley, Troy Goss, Willis Garrard, Sidney Leist, Dwight Woodward and Carroll Blackwell.

William D. Haley

KILBOURNE, La. William D. “Sonny” Haley died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital. He was 71.

Mr. Haley was a lifelong resident of Kilbourne, La.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stevie Haley; his parents, Sandy and Gladys Haley; and a sister, Mildred Philley.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Haley of Kilbourne; a daughter, Vickie Pullin of Kilbourne; two stepsons, Darren Sims of Nashville, Ark., and Pat Warner of Troupe, Texas; a stepdaughter, Dana Krepick of El Dorado, Ark.; four brothers, B.C. Haley and Marvin Haley, both of Kilbourne, and Frank Haley and Donald Haley, both of Whitehouse, Texas; three sisters, Mercedes Williams of Baskin, La., Exced Calhoun of Oak Grove and Sybil Helms of Jackson; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Revs. Bernard Duchesne and Ronald Ratley officiating. Burial will follow at the Kilbourne Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Helms, Charlie Helms, Todd Taley, Marty Haley, Robbie Haley and Terry Don Haley.

Charles Emerson Holley

MINDEN, La. Charles Emerson Holley died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Cornerstone Hospital in Bossier City, La. He was 91.

A resident of Minden, La., Mr. Holley was a former co-owner and co-operator of Holley & Lester Transmission Service in Oak Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Mary Elizabeth Holley.

Survivors include his wife, LaFern Holley of Minden; two daughters, Joyce Holley Foster of Ruston, La., and Mary Lou Dixon of Hartsville, S.C.; a sister, Mary Coody of Pioneer; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi, La., with the Revs. Adrian DeLukie and Jim Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Epps Cemetery in Epps, La.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Holley, John Lloyd Holley, Charles Lynn Holley, Dean Crowe, Jeff Churchwell and John Vernon Copes.
