Earline Berry

OAK GROVE Earline Berry died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. She was 83.

Mrs. Berry was a resident of Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Edmonson; her parents, Clement and Pearl Blackburn; two brothers, Homer Blackburn and William Lester Blackburn; and a sister, Ossie Henderson.

Survivors include her husband, James Berry of Oak Grove; a son, Mike Berry of Oak Grove; a sister, Mildred Butler of Bastrop, La.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Baptist Church in Forest with the Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at New Forest Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m.-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Howard Ainsworth, Tom Sharplin, Hatton Tuggle, Roy Bass, Don Harris and Perry Brantley.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men’s senior adult Sunday school class of Forest Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 8624 LA Highway 2, Oak Grove, LA 71263.

Essex Brandon

Essex Brandon died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 72.

A native of Port Gibson, Mr. Brandon was a longtime resident of Vicksburg. He was a self-employed logger and a member of Triumph M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Deloris Brandon of Vicksburg; a son, Tyrone Ross of Vicksburg; a daughter, Brenda Carson of Vicksburg; three sisters, Faley Lee Weathersby of Hattiesburg, Rosie Moore of New Orleans and Benita Judge of Toledo, Ohio; two brothers, Tullos Brandon and William Brandon, both of Port Gibson; a grandchild; and other relatives, including the Ross, Sims and Carson families.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Ruth Ann Fletcher

MONROE, La. Ruth Ann Fletcher died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Rayville, La. She was 47.

Mrs. Fletcher was a resident of Monroe.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Fletcher; and her parents, Floyd Everett and Ruth Evelyn Moore.

Survivors include her husband, Lester Fletcher of Swartz, La.; a son, Joe Fletcher of Portales, N.M.; a brother, Eddie Moore of Epps; four sisters, Linda Criswell of Forest, Rena McPherson and Myrtle McPherson, both of Epps, and Lisa Hale of Pioneer; and other relatives.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove with the Rev. Bob Schlemmer officiating.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until the service today at the funeral home.

George Eugene Green

OAK GROVE George Eugene Green died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at his home. He was 47.

Mr. Green was born in Lake Providence and lived in Oak Grove.

He is survived by one son, William Seth Green of Rocky Branch, La.; four daughters, Aimee Green Armstrong, Trinitee Green Hattaway and Sarah Lynn Green, all of Rocky Branch, and Jaimee Danielle Green of Houston, Texas; his father, George Green Jr. of Oakwood, Texas; his mother, Mary Crowe of Oak Grove; one brother, Mike Green of Crestview, Fla.; and two sisters, Cecile Williams of Oak Grove and Sherry Bourgeois of Thibodaux, La.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Fiske Union Assembly of God with the Revs. Huey White, Kevin D. Veazey and Matthew LaCaze officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Sunday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Mike Green, Lancer Williams, Heath Williams, Seth Green, Steven Boyer, Eddie Stephenson and Mike Creech.

Julius Earl Green

PORT GIBSON Julius Earl Green died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at his home. He was 53.

Mr. Green was a member and senior deacon at Antioch Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Lee and Carnella Green; one son, Timothy E. Green; and one brother, Arthur B. Green.

He is survived by his wife, Greateal Green; one son, Julius Green II of Vicksburg; three brothers, Nelson Green of Port Gibson, Edgar Green of Panama City, Fla., and Cornelius Green of Jackson; seven sisters, Janice McGee, Linda Smith and Inez Green, all of Jackson, Catherine Williams, Everjean Small, Gwendolyn Green and Addie Green, all of Port Gibson; and one grandson.

Services will be at noon today at Antioch Christian Church with the Rev. Daniel Cook officiating assisted by Elder T.E. Harris. Burial will follow in McCay Cemetery in Russum.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. today until the service.

Emma Johnson Williams

Emma Johnson Williams died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.

Mrs. Williams was retired from Redwood Elementary School, where she was a custodian. She was a member of Springfield M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Williams, and one son, Exel Daily.

She is survived by one son, Lester Williams of Vicksburg; two daughters, Bernice Haggard of Vicksburg and Johnnie Jackson of Joliet, Ill.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
