Charles L. Caldwell Jr.

Charles L. Caldwell Jr. died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at his home. He was 36.

A native of Victorville, Calif., Mr. Caldwell had lived in Vicksburg for the past year. He was an Army veteran, having served in the Persian Gulf, and was a carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

He is survived by two children; his parents, Charles L. Caldwell Sr. and Carolyn F. Caldwell, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Steve Caldwell of Fort Worth, Texas; and a sister, Nancy Houston of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Dorothy Ray Lescallette

Dorothy Ray Lescallette died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.

A native of Wachapreague, Va., Mrs. Lescallette had lived in Vicksburg for the past two years. She was former manager of The Sea Gull Inn and The Roses Restaurant. She and her husband owned and operated the Sinclair Service Station at The Dock in Wachapreague for a number of years.

Mrs. Lescallette was a member of Ocean View United Methodist Church. She was a past worthy matron of The Wachapreague Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Freeman Lescallette; and her parents, Henry Brooks Parker and Bessie Ray Bell Parker.

Survivors include a son, Dr. W. Frank Lescallette of Vicksburg; a sister, Sylvia Bradley of Wachapreague; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ocean View United Methodist Church in Wachapreague with the Rev. Sallye Bowen and Dr. W. Frank Lescallette officiating. Burial will follow at Wachapreague Cemetery under the direction of Williams-Onancock Funeral Home in Onancock, Va.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service at the church.
