Fuller tosses no-hitter as WC trounces Natchez

[3/5/04]Brittany Fuller struck out nine and walked only one in a five-inning no-hitter to lead Warren Central to a 15-0 rout of Natchez on Thursday.

Candice McKay went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for WC (2-2, 1-0 Division 6-5A), which had only six hits. Despite the low hit total, every Lady Vike played and reached base.

“We got in a lot of baserunning. We made some mistakes, but at this point we’re learning,” WC coach Lucy Young.

WC is scheduled to play in the Northwest Rankin tournament today at 3:30 p.m. against Brandon, and at 6:30 against Baton Rouge (La.) High. The tournament was moved to Brandon because of wet fields at Northwest Rankin.
