8th-inning rally lifts St. Aloysius

[3/24/04]Taylor George’s two-RBI single in the eighth inning lifted St. Aloysius to a 7-5 win over St. Andrew’s on Tuesday night.

George’s hit scored Candace Park and Hannah Hayes, and the Saints were retired in the bottom of the eighth.

Laura Beth Lyons improved to 7-3 on the season. She allowed five runs on eight hits and struck out 11.

Sarah Kerut led St. Al (7-3) with three hits, while Stephanie Gwin hit a single, double and scored three runs, and Park doubled.

St. Al is scheduled to play at Salem on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Terry 15, Vicksburg 0

Terry scored four runs in each of the first three innings, and added three more in the fourth to end the game early because of the mercy rule.

Angie Weed improved to 2-0 on the year. She allowed two Vicksburg hits.

Shannon Arnold hit a double for the Missy Gators (3-9), who are scheduled to play Northwest Rankin on Thursday.
