The Vicksburg Post prints obituaries for residents, former residents and residents’ immediate family members who resided elsewhere when notified by a family member or a funeral home. There is no charge for printing an obituary, but all are edited to meet the newspaper’s requirements.
Leonard B. Fahlstrom Jr.
Leonard B. Fahlstrom Jr. died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 46.
A native of Odessa, Texas, Mr. Fahlstrom had been a Vicksburg resident since 1996. He was a retired truck driver and attended Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Debra M. Fahlstrom of Vicksburg; a son, Danny Fahlstrom of Vicksburg; three brothers, Frank Fahlstrom, Bo West and Ricky West, all of Odessa; a sister, Nita Thomas of Odessa; and other relatives and friends, including the Moore and Thompson families of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Moore, Danny Fahlstrom, Bubba Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, David Hamilton, Shannon Beswick and Bill Thompson.
R.J. Howell
Services for R.J. Howell were at noon today at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie O’Quinn officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Howell died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at River Region Medical Center. He was 83.
A native of Flora, Mr. Howell lived in Vicksburg for 50 years. He worked for the Warren County Highway Department for 10 years and for Magnolia Homes for 24 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army, and he was a member of Bentonia Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents, George Robert Howell and Martha Jane Myers Howell; three sons, Ricky Howell, Billy Howell and Donnie Howell; five brothers, Robert Leon Howell, George Howell, Troy Myers, Sylvester Howell and Curtis Myers; and two sisters, Pauline Wade and Beatrice Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Earline Howell of Vicksburg; two daughters, Nan Howell of Vicksburg and Kathy Cooper of Colorado City, Texas; four brothers, William George Howell of Bentonia, Malcom Howell and Alfred LeVone Howell, both of Jackson, and Melvin Leflora Howell of Brandon; three sisters, Bonnie Kirk of Yazoo City, Jeannett Gettey of Flora and Lorice Clemens of Picayune; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Hugh Guest, Sonny Redditt, Bo Warren, Grady Howell, Jerry Hardy and Jack Pace.
